Guys, I promise...

It is disheartening to be dreaming of next season this short in to this season.

Just simply stating my opinion on the manner. No one with common sense has given up on Martin or this team. Martin has a lot of promise as a coach, and to see how Golden, Josh R., and Maymon have developed under Martin is very promising. Josh is the best guard rebounder we have had in a very long time. He has a very bright future here IMO.

Happens when you lose your best starter before the season starts.
Without Maymon this is just a below average team.

I totally disagree. Martin cost us this game as he did with the SEC Ole Miss game last year. At some point you have to put your man hood down and say look my plan isn't working and seek refuge from someone who specializes on the offensive end. No one questions this teams heart or defensive mind set, but many of us question Martin's strategy, or lack there of, on the offensive side of the ball.

Have to agree. Doesn't seem anyone has stepped up from last years crew. It is early. Maybe they will get it together. I am rally concerned about Maymon returning to early last season form this season.

I think it's been well known Hall was never going to be the the answer, and Yemi is still young. In all honesty I'd say it's a miracle we are as good as we are right now.

I live in D.C. and was at the game tonight. I was happy to see UT fans at the Verizon Centers. The point of the matter is that there were not really good defense but really bad offense. We were taking bad shots, missing easy 5 foot shots and free throws. One of the G'town fans commented it looked like two bad high school teams out there.

I know that Coach Zo will improve out team but the biggest questions I have right now is when will we see Skylar's deadly 3-pt shooting and when will Jarnell start dominating? Can anyone answer that?

At a point where out football team has hit almost rock bottom, we nee our BBall team to grab their sacks and Man-Up!

When is Pearl's show cause up? You score less than 40 in a game you are not very good.

Disagree. You score less then 40 and your opponent scores 50+ you are not good. Our opponent scored less then 40 too. Georgetown no good either?

It's not so much the score of this one game. UT has played two legitimate teams and they have not showed the patience, toughness, or the willingness to work for a good shot. It's easy to pass the ball around out front for most of the shot clock and then jack up a long shot.

Good teams run an offense and work hard at getting to the rim by either driving to the basket or having their post players work hard to get the ball down low. UT has not shown the willingness or the ability to do either one of these against good teams.

Free throws are on the players. They are called "FREE" for a reason. Middle School Girls shoot better than this team. Get a routine, repetition (again hard work), and expect success!

Vols have played two legitimate D1 teams (Ok St & Gtown). They scored 45 pts vs OSU and 36 vs G'town. May not be as much of an anomaly as you think, my friend>

This is barely a .500 team without Maymon. Play good defense but don't have any "go to" players. Stokes has not improved ( yet) as much as I thought he would since last season. Gotta get him the ball, however, he has no game outside of 10 feet and can't shoot FT's which is a detriment since teams are going to foul the heck out of him.

The fact that this thread even needs to be made after we lose by one to a ranked team, without arguably our best player, tells you all you need to know about our fanbase.

You obviously didn't live through the Kevin O'Neill era. The sky is not falling but if you score 36 points in a college game, you have a long way to go.

But if you hold them to only 37? What does that say?

It's the football mentality. A team and season are not judged by one or two games in basketball.
