I am old and I'm not a fan of light shows for the same reasons I dislike dance clubs. The strobes and whatnot are disorienting for me.

I also think the use of field level pyrotechnics during halftime can create smoke that lingers until kickoff and beyond. It's dumb.

That said, I'm not an idiot. All that crap has nothing to do with wins EXCEPT I bet visiting recruits find it pretty damn cool in a stadium full of 100,000 people.

I mean, you said you wanted to see Taylor Swift in concert. That alone is a sign of severe brain trauma so you might want to re-check for any dented places.

Tennessee had the 4th highest allocated budget for football recruiting in 2022. They were also under NCAA investigation for Level One violations, committed by the previous staff, and admitted to by the current administration. Heupel was limited by self-imposed scholarship reductions, and still managed to put a quality Class of 2023 together.

2021- #22 class
2022- #17 class
2023 - #10
2024- #9 currently

Heupel 1st two years at UT they were under investigation by the NCAA. What Heupel has done since taking over is pretty damn good. He has improved every year in recruting, and in case you haven’t looked this 2024 class could end up around the top 5 by time signing day.

As much as everyone wants to be Florida, just remember it’s been 21 years since we last beat them in the swamp. UT has beat UGA and Bama more times on the road during this time than UF. For whatever reason it seems like even UT’s best teams can’t win in Florida, even when we are favored to win.

The lights are there. Bought/paid for/installed in the last three years. Personally I'm not a big fan, but whatever. With what tickets are selling for these days, I'm gonna get every last scrap of entertainment I can out of things I suppose

Hell, I happened to be at Kroger last night buying provisions for the games today. There's a mid-range high school across the street. They were doing their a light show as the players entered (I guess? It was right around 8 pm anyway). Hate to see what kind of bells and whistles some of the actual big dog high schools have these days.

(BTW, I enjoy minor league baseball. Haven't been to a MLB game in like 15 years-really don't care if I ever go to one again. The semi-local minor league team, $30 will get two people in the door and buy each a dog, peanuts, and a few beers.)

If your so unhappy maybe it’s time to find another team to follow and complain about. If you don’t like light shows, don’t go to the game or open the app……simple solution.

I don’t get the Taylor Swift hate. I mean, her music is not my cup of tea but she gave all of her workers a 100K bonus on her last tour. She’s not a bad person.
