Halfway to Signing Day....

Remember two years ago we finished 7-6 with a bowl win. We lost homecoming to Louisiana Monroe and still had a top three recruiting class.

We're doing a good job right now, filling some needs. Obviously we still need a quarterback and a few players here or there. We're still in on a ton of guys, some committed some not.

If we look good on the field this class could still end up great, IMO.

quite amazing actually. if it turns out that kiffin can recruit anywhere close to what saban has done at alabama, ut should definitely bring in some good recruits.

i got to admit, after that first season for saban at ua, i thought it was going to be a disaster, but he proved me wrong.

The way JB told it (or at least the way I understood it) is that Gran was talking about Lamaison when he said the JUCO QB...

I don't know about what JB said, but Kiffin has made it clear we are going after 2 QBs in this class. I seriously doubt the JuCo guy that Baty was told we were recruiting was Nick Lamaison. I think you know who I think it is.

Take away the turnovers last year in the Fl. game we had a chance with any O production to put them on the ropes. You better believe they are going to have a bunch of recruits in for the UT game.I think we can pull it out and put us in for a top three class.

Well, from what I remember someone asked JB who the JUCO QB is that Baty was referring to, and he said Lamaison...

I feel awesome about where we are at right now. The guys we have committed will probably rise in rankings during their senior year. I also think we will get the guys that our staff want once they see what we have to show on the field.

we have done a pretty good job of filling position needs but not at landing super high profile commits except for palardy. i would rate now as a B. However, with recent activity and taking in who i think we will get(luc, milton, joyner, maybe prater, stills if we want him, a quarterback, and others) i think the second half is an A+ and people will be surprised at how well we finish.

long story short= pretty calm til now but a BIG finish looming.

i want 3-4 OL. Stone is a likely candidate, and im banking on us getting a JuCo, maybe Cullen if he gets over Auburn. i want a TE, im pulling for Millard. We will land Milton and I would like to see us snag Cobbs or Meline, im not holding my breathe on Prater until we prove anything on the field. I dont think we need much more than 1 more DL. Id like some more DBs but im not up to speed on who we are recruiting in that department but id especially love to have some more LBs. Luc is a longshot and hope, but ill take 2-3 decent ones in his place. and of course, who could forget a QB??

overall, I give them a B. theyre meeting needs right now more than anything, nothing too flashy. im impressed as of right now. im confident we will hold onto just about everyone we have thus far, maybe not Broussard. If we find a QB and some OL we will be a top 10 for sure.:eek:k:

Remember last February we had a coaching staff for a couple of months and finished top 10 in recruiting including the #1 player in the nation? I am so glad to see so many bammers and gators on here now, you guys know we are coming for you. Watch your back, we are a new Tennessee.

I completely disagree. That game was a lot worse than the score. The turnovers really hurt, but we wouldn't have put them on the ropes. We would have been more competitive though.

I think this team has the talent to pull off an 8-9 win season this year. If we can pull off wins against teams like Ole Miss & UGA, it would certainly help in recruiting.

I was at the UT/Fla. game last year. As I sat there, at some point in the 3rd QTR. I recall thinkin' why is Meyer taking his foot off the gas? As I was walking to my car after the game I thought...Meyer didn't want Fulmer to go.

09 Unbelieveable! 10 Great first half. Still alot to accomplish to get to the top. Staffakes me feel we will get it done. Season results will make or break our final haul.

We have some real needs from the 10 class. We have big wins with DL, Kicker, Fullback and we are making great progress with receivers this week.

We will turn a QB before NSD. The opportunity is just too good to pass up the keys to this offence. We've made progress on the OL, but I would love to see us get a couple of really bad dudes from this class. The last area of need that needs help is LB. We've lost out on a couple of big time players. If we get that done, it will be a wonderful year.

We are in good hands. I know I didn't feel this confident 12 months ago!

I think we are doing pretty good right now I also think a few guys may start coming our way very soon depending on position because our top 4 SEC rivals in recruiting it seems they are beginning to run out of room.

According Rivals:

Alabama - 18 Commitments
Florida - 17 Commitments
LSU - 21 Commitments
Georgia - 18 Commitments
