This could be a good thing if it causes Seth to come back next season. A) He’ll be needed more next year and could fill the closer role in a dominant way, and B) It could help him to have a full, healthy season, without trying to work back from injury or trying to find room to pitch in a crowded bullpen.
Truth is, with Dollander coming back sooner rather than later, and Tidwell working into form, Halvorsen wasn’t really needed this season.
Is he eligible to go pro at end of this season? And, if so, I would guess he would need the season next year to prove to the bigs that he's healthy.
Pitchers who have had a pitching arm bone fracture just from the stress of throwing a normally hard thrown pitch have a sketchy history of becoming healthy pitchers again, in my memory.
He was drafted last year in the 19th round. He’s already been drafted twice. Might be tough to turn down again. Remember, Jackson Leath was drafted and left after being hurt all last season. But there are only 20 rounds this year.

Wilkerson just talked about Halverson on Sports Talk. He shared a bit of info from his pregame interview with Coach V. Coach V said that Halverson was continuing rehab and that he (Halverson) was not happy about last week’s reports that he wouldn’t pitch this season. Coach V said that if Halverson’s rehab continued to progress, there *might* be an opportunity for him to pitch during the postseason. No guarantees.
