I have been saying this for a while...

wesrucker247 Vols baseball had legit issues last time it needed a coach — APR woes, meh facilities, etc. No excuses now. It's a good job

"Thank the university, especially the players, some assistant coaches and some players’ families for their support (during) my time here at the university."

Hilarious. Some players families. Well not the ones who called him out for being a total snake.

This is a good read and further illustrates my point:
As the Vols move on and look for somebody to take over the coaching from Raleigh, in some ways the job would seem to be more appealing than it was when the former Western Carolina coach was replacing Rod Delmonico.

On the field, the brutally tough SEC pulled away from UT this season as it struggled to a 7-23 mark and finished in last place -- while three teams at the top of the league are currently ranked in the top four in the nation.

But off the field, the facilities have been given a facelift and rank among some of the best in the country, the APR has improved, and after getting its full complement of scholarships back in 2011, the next coach won’t be limited by that either.

Todd Raleigh fired as Tennessee baseball coach GoVolsXtra

I think he means there's no excuse for not bringing in a top, proven coach, in other words, Hamilton should go get a coach who can go head to head with Vandy Florida and SC...

If you agree with that, then I agree with you.

Raliegh is a bad BB coach and was from the start. Hamilton is a bad AD and was from the start. We have got rid of one problem not lets get rid of the biggest problem and fire Hamilton.

I agree. He has brought a lot of money to UT. Has upgraded things. When you hire a coach he gets most of the blame but i would bet there is a lot more guys, boosters that sign off on it too.

Based on prior history with Hamilton hires, I have a feeling though that some mid-major program is about to lose a baseball coach to Tennessee.

When the NCAA Hammer slams TN, Hammy will be on the first bus out of town..... 0% chance that Hammy survives all of that.....

No majors in football.

Penalties follow Pearl, but also guys who are acting like they are in the clear in Forbes and Jones. They lied to the NCAA just as surely as Pearl did.

The "bump" violation will be dropped. That was pure crap.

Pearl will get dealt with much more severely than Lute Olson or than Jim Calhoun which is absolute bullcrap because he lied to the NCAA about something much less severe.

The NCAA will note the cooperation of Mike Hamilton and the compliance staff and will say they are satisfied in the oversight. David Blackburn will take all of the credit (but not for the stories he placed about Mike Hamilton being a horrible AD with sportswriters).

No loss of institutional control and after they go further into what Pearl was told, no failure to monitor for football or basketball.

Kiffin and Pearl will both be thrown as far under the bus as the AD staff can heave.

So let me see if I've got this right. No probation. No loss of schollys. No recruiting restrictions. No nothing?

Hope yer right, that would be swell.

There will be no new charges so since LOIC is not cited now then they will obviously not get that. so since that is the worst violation a program/school can get then we will not be hit too severely.

No post season ban of any kind.

No ineligible players used so no forfeitures of any wins.

There may be a loss of a scholarship in basketball, but I really believe that the recruiting restrictions, lost scholarships etc were all hanging over TN because they were with Pearl retained.

I think Hamilton on advice of counsel and with the BOT weighing in heavily, got rid of Pearl in large measure to make June go better.

Pearl also was paid handsomely despite not having signed the contract he was offered in part so he can take the blame here.

Pearl will probably get a 1 or 2 year show cause. That means ESPN during that time, and a plan in his mind to stay in Knoxville and while not restricted as a coach to build lots of relationships with top 8th and 9th graders so he is ready to dominate recruiting in a way he was just starting to at UT.

People act like you cannot come back to coaching from a show cause. That is crap.

I think probation is likely. If C Martin has a screw up in basketball UT would get absolutely pounded.

By the way, Ohio State should be absolutely buried given that after previous shenanigans they are still standing by CJT.

Yes Hamilton is the reason Kiffin left to take a job no one foresaw opening up. Hamilton is to blame for not being able to bring in a more "proven" coach who would be doing to his team what so many cuss Kiffin for doing to our guys. It was Hamilton who forced Pearl to break rules and then lie multiple times about it. It was Hamilton who single-handedly fronted the money for Fulmer's extension.

If anything, Hamilton has looked out for the University's athletics by having the balls to make tough and unpopular personnel changes, and by raising the necessary funds to improve facilities and keep us at a competitive level.

If Dooley or Martin's teams don't perform well, who's to blame? $hit flows uphill.

Hobock,

If Dooley does not succeed, he will not be replaced by Mike Hamilton.

Mike knows that.

I just think he will succeed.
