Hobock,

If Dooley does not succeed, he will not be replaced by Mike Hamilton.

Mike knows that.

I just think he will succeed.

Hamilton went all-in with Dooley? I would hate to have that on my mind everyday.

I poorly worded my post. I was trying to say: Of course there were circumstances way beyond Hamilton's control but ultimately he is responsible.

It was not his call.

It was the BOT (well one particular person who is our very own Bobby Lowder especially).

They love him and he has done lots of good things for them, but if they need a new head football coach in 2013 or 2014 (Dooley has until at least then barring an 0-10 type meltdown) Mike will be let go.

Yes Hamilton is the reason Kiffin left to take a job no one foresaw opening up...

That bullcrap has been used over and over but it just is NOT true. One of the very view things of credit that Kiffin did was to tell Hamilton that if (IF...) Pete Carroll went to the NFL that he would be a candidate for the USC job. He was up front and honest (for a change) about it. Hamilton shrugged it off and went skiing in Colorado. When it was announced that Kiffin was leaving, he was still in Colorado and had NO plan to replace him. He flew home and went on a whirlwind tour to find a replacement -- any replacement. He got Dooley who may well be a diamond in the rough. Time will tell. If Hamilton was a decent manager, he would have already put a plan in place before Kiffin even told him of the possibility. Then, a decent manager would have looked at the plan and adjusted it as needed and started inquiring at that time. Hamilton is NOT a decent manager. He should be fired ... not at some point in the future, but NOW!

Football -- gone from perpetual sell out to walk up and buy tickets
Basketball -- probation looms, defections are rampant, recruiting is weak, future NCAA appearances are relegated to "hope" status
Baseball -- Cellar dwelling laughing stock of the SEC
Track -- What is that? It disappeared 2 decades ago
Swimming -- Somebody needs to dig Ray Bussard up
Money -- funds are there but the return on investment is NOT. That would get any manager fired
Facilities -- Baseball is better, basketball is sound, football is smaller and easier to find tickets, training is improving. Where is the return on investment?
Personnel -- Kiffin, Pearl, Raleigh, et al are not worthy of an SEC athletic director
NCAA -- time will tell. It is an embarassment at any rate

"Summer's Eve" Hamilton must go.

So Kiffin told Hamilton the week that speculation began of Carroll leaving, that he would be a candidate? That's not foreseeing the job opening up when the hired was made. In December 2008 did you know Carroll would leave USC in Jan 2010? Kiffin was awful confident in himself, too bad USC wasn't as confident, considering Fisher, Del Rio, Sarkasian, Riley and Harbaugh wouldn't even listen. USC never expected to get to Kiffin.

Am I? Absolutely. He is a human being who makes some mistakes, but he is a great human being and despite the fact that writers are stirring the pot (idiotically in many cases) for his ouster, he is secure in his position.
