it would be impossible to get a coach that could ever match what CBP has done at UT. That's just crazy talk

If Pearl was in Memphis on his way to meet with RC Johnson and he tried to call Hamilton to check in, it would be awesome if Hamilton's admin told him, "sorry, Bruce, but Mike is in a closed-door with meeting with Sean Miller right now so he'll have to call you back later".

If Knight came here these players would give him a heart attack before the year was over theres no way he would come here

I guess I'm not understanding some of the Pearl defender posts - the guy didn't say "Pearl sucks - wow he did horrible this season" etc etc... he took the Pearl contacting Memphis rumor as a fact which has nothing to do with how good of a coach he is and it has nothing to do with winning.

I agree. I guess I would be in the Pearl defender club, but if he is contacting Memphis, it has nothing to do with his coaching. It is more about maybe not being content in Knoxville.

you people have shorter memories than house flies, we have no basketball program without pearl...we won the east this year with a team that's still in diapers. this is the equivolent of ole miss firing cutcliffe after one down year. we need to remember who we are historically in basketball, and then look at where we're at right now, without pearl we're not relevant and he deserves more respect than he's getting from alot of you.

I couldn't agree more. Our team over achieved considering the lack of guard play. I was disappointed Tatum didn't get more PT. And, Pearl allowed too many 3pt attempts, especially by the big men.

this is ridiculous. you honestly think if Pearl Leaves, not fired mind you, that they should just close up TBA? i mean good grief.

the guy has been great for us for what we needed when he was hired.

but to think that "we have no basketball program w/out Pearl" is just plain dumb.

IF only Florida had that same attitude when they fired Galen Hall and hired Steve Spurrier, maybe Fulmer would still be here too.

do you really consider a team that starts 4 juniors as young?

Our team is the equivalent of Freshmen and Sophomores.
For time at Tennessee:
3 years - Chism, Tabb
2 years - Smith, Prince, Williams
1 year - Hopson, Maze, Tatum, Negedu, Woolridge

Tatum is a redshirt freshman - and not only that - he went to prep school out of high school due to grades.

So what if its Maze's first year here? He's had plenty of time as well. And lol at the Prince and Tyler stat. Does the year JP sat out as a transfer not count towards being at UT? Plus who cares what his time is at UT - he spent time at Arizona as well and Tyler spent time at Iowa and a year between leaving UT and going to Iowa. Why doesn't experience at schools like Iowa, Arizona, and Oklahoma not count now? And don't give me some crap about how it takes time to learn his "system". This is basketball - and I could learn Bruce's flex offense in a day.

We're not as young as people make us out to be.

Why in the world does Knight's name pop up every time there is a vacancy anywhere? Does anyone really think this guy can still coach a team to a final four? His time is passed and people need to move on!
