Brilliant idea scheduling the Kansas game during a football recruiting dead period. Would have great having a half-dozen 4-5* football recruits in a jam packed TBA with Rocky Top playing.

It was done for CBS television brother. Money not recruits was in Hamiltons mind.

And what if we had gotten our butts kicked?

i see what you are saying but getting the elite players for football in there in no way guarantees anything. When CBS says we want you to play on Sunday 10,2010 then you have to say write the check.

Obviously it's because Lundquist's love for Tebow is so good that he wanted to help Florida cope with Tebow's graduation by making CBS take the date when Tennessee had a dead period.

BCS bowls pay 17 mil.

I'm not sure if this is for every conference, but I don't think Tennessee would see all 17 million if they were to make it to a BCS bowl. I think it goes throughout the conference... Maybe that's just the ACC. So everyone gets a piece of the pie.

If I was a recruit, I know my committment would be riding on the outcome of the UT v. Kansas game.

Yeah, because if I'm a blue chip football recruit I'm really gonna base my decision off of a basketball game...

If this was the case, Duke, Kentucky, Kansas, UConn, etc. would all be powerhouse football programs.

can't you just enjoy the win and the fact that UT managed to get Kansas on the schedule? my guess is you schedule non-conf big time programs like Kansas, Duke, UNC, UCLA etc when you can get them, not necessarily when it's convenient for football recruiting. and the sec regular season is about to start with 2 games a week. add a Kansas in the middle of that?

is it just me, or has this board got more delusional lately? im embarassed by some things people say here. on what planet do teams schedule basketball games around football recruiting?

one thread people say good riddance to a wr that contributed as a freshman cause they think these recruits are just the bestest ever to play the game. i mean if kiffin offered them , they must walk on water.

another says kiffin should refuse to let berry come back if he wanted to

just some wild off the wall stuff lately. just as loony as alabama fans

I blame it all on the untimely death of Michael Jackson. :cray:
