On his own website, Williams said he was the one who made the decision.

"After reading hundreds of e-mails, I have made MY decision," he wrote. "By pulling my opening Oct 3rd, You (ESPN) stepped on the Toes of The First Amendment Freedom of Speech, so therefore Me, My Song, and All My Rowdy Friends are OUT OF HERE. It's been a great run."
Good for him!

Hank Williams is an idiot. You don't have Freedom of Speech when it comes to the workplace. If he was the one who made the decision to bail, it was because he saw the writing on the wall.

I never like his crappy intro anyways. I guess the older people associate that song with MNF, but I won't miss it.

Wrong. It's more a new thing than old. The number of years before that redneck opening was introduced far exceeds the number of years it was played.

HWJ is beyond stupid

Why was he wearing a Alabama hat in the Obama/Hitler interview? I always thought he was a Vol fan.

I have to say, I don't watch NFL too much and when this story broke I was totally floored to learn that Hank Williams jr was still alive. No joke.

Somebody from work told me what he said and I was like "who?". Then I asked if it was a story from The Onion because I was convinced that he couldn't possibly still be alive.

I'm actually very glad he wore an Alabama hat in that interview. Could you image if he had a UT hat on? Oh my God the uproar!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Especially it being ESPN.
