Just curious, why that question in this thread?

He seems to like a variety if music and I just discovered them myself, figured I'd he liked HW the third, he would probably like OCMS.

Fair enough, wouldn't have thought to put those two together so I had to ask.

If you just discovered them I'd highly recommend trying to track down their first album, Greetings from Wawa. It's not the easiest to find (at least at a reasonable price) but it's really good.

Also, (shameless plug for some guys I've gotten to meet and hang out with a few times) if you like OCMS you should check out a band called The Fox Hunt.

i read where he's questioning the artistic value of that new album of songs written partially by hank the first but completed and sung by other artists. kinda weird but it will probably be solid at least. he wasn't asked to be a part of it but his sister was.

Seen him live with Superjoint Ritual. Was awesome.

I like the song where he calls out Kid Rock.

He's like my idol for doing that.

why did he call him out and what did he say?

On Hank 3;s song "Not Everybody Likes Us" Hank sings:
Well I think I'd rather eat the barrel,
Of a double-barrel loaded shotgun,
Than to hear that shi* they call pop-country music,
On ninety-eight-point-one.
Just so you know, so it's it's set in stone,
Kid Rock don't come from where I come from:
Yeah, it's true, he's a Yank, he ain't no son of Hank:
If you even thought so, god-dahmn, you're fu*king dumb.

From the band he mentioned? Or other bands to recommend?

If you meant some other bands, from some of your other posts I'd say you might like Hellbound Glory (like someone else mentioned in here), .357 String Band, or I Can Lick Any Sonofa***** In the House.

I meant the band mentioned, but I'm really diggin those other bands that were listed. Glad I asked.

Glad to hear you liked the others.

As for the band he mentioned, I'd start with either the OCMS album or Big Iron World. Tennessee Pusher is pretty good too but not as good as either of those two for me. As I mentioned earlier, if you can find "Greetings from Wawa" I'd grab it but it's out of print and usually costs a lot more than I'd pay for it if I didn't already have it.

As for individual songs, Wagon Wheel is by far their most famous song and it has a pretty interesting back story to it. Lots of people have covered this one over the past couple of years:

But I think this might actually be my favorite song, or at least the most fun to see them perform live:

Has anyone heard them or does everyone here dislike III? Ones a country album, ones a cajun/psychedelic type album. Ones a doom metal album and ones a speedmetal type album. I like them all and was lucky enough to see him live a few weeks ago. He sounded great. Anybody got anything to say bout it?

Don't care for Hank Williams III. Partied to his dad's music many times and still do to this day.

Sheer gold there. At least he can admit his name is why he's "successful."
