Hope you had a great birthday, Milo. My brother tells me that Hood is getting pounded with powder, so hopefully you had a chance to enjoy one part of the outdoors that we East Tennesseeans just don't get.
I've been ready and raring to go up this season, but riding Mt. Hood is just an expensive proposition. All things included, I'm looking at a good $100 for a day trip. May not seem like much, but I've got band equipment, car expenses and a speeding ticket to worry about, all off of the money I can make from 10 hours a week of work.
Plus my board needs some wax and CLR. The thing is dry as a bone and the edges are getting some gnarly rust. :yuck:
Little bro was telling me about the place he rides on Hood where you have to take a snowcat above the end of the lifts. Heather Canyon, I think??? All double diamonds. He said it's insane. But. . . .so is he, so it all works out.
