I'm fascinated by that......seriously.

What are you celebrating exactly? I'm not trying to be rude here, I'm just curious what an atheist celebrates on Easter? You love chocolate, don't you Berry? :)

Easter was a holiday before Jesus was even born. The name Easter derives from the pagan god of fertility. Today is the day of the Spring Equinox which is why it has already been celebrated. Easter bunnies, eggs, and all those other customs were used before Christian Easter.

Holidays are days to celebrate and be with your family and thats how and why non believers celebrate it also. Its a western civilization custom now, kinda like why foreigners and immigrants celebrate thanksgiving.

Hope this helps

Happy "He is risen" day VN. He blesses me every day with more than I deserve and I often fail to give thanks. Let's be thankful today everyone.

Happy Easter! I know this is off topic but do you eat the easter eggs that you dye or do you just dye them for looks then throw them away? My gf thinks I am crazy for eating them.

As long as they've been refrigerated, eat 'em. It's just a little dye. Make egg salad out of them....she'll never know the difference.

I'm hungry.

I find your gf odd. Haha I usually make a bowl of multi-colored Egg Salad with the left over dyed eggs. Happy Easter Volnation!!! XD

My professor at UT said it, and it was on the history and discovery channels and websites. I guess they could be wrong tho.

And no one though to raise their hand and ask about the concepts of Good Friday and Maundy Thursday (no longer recognized) and how they play into the 4 day holiday weekend?
