Harbaugh to the 49ers?

I may well be in denial, but they aren't the Lions or the Bills. Hell they played well in all but a couple games this year, the Qb play simply killed them.

It's going to take a bit to develop any QB. Gabbert has the tools, and that comes from one of the biggest missouri haters to whom you will ever talk. I would take him over Newton and Mallett for sure

Doesn't always take long to develop a QB (Bradford, Matt Ryan, Joe Flacco, even Tebow looked good in his only 2 games)

I think it all depends on how hard that QB is willing to work. Assuming we get Harbaugh I say the resign Alex Smith and keep building the defense. Harbaugh is good with QBs and while I dont think he can change Smith, I do think he could turn him into a serviceable QB for a year or two

None of those guys were world beaters their first year. Ryan and Flacco were adequate game managers on teams who were very good elsewhere

I can't think of one QB who recently set the world on fire as a rookie. But those that I mentioned were good as rookies. I think Gabbert would be better brought along through sitting behind a veteran...like Philip Rivers, Aaron Rogers, Tom Brady. I would not start him from day one.
