Hardest College to get into in every State

I went to Berea College. I didn't graduate due to reasons both in my control and out of my control. Great school and the campus is probably one of the most technologically advanced anywhere.

Clemson is pretty tough to get in. Small freshman class of 3,400 per year and much higher admission standards than SC. My son did not consider Clemson initially but got a full ride academic scholarship in 2000 based on a 1590 SAT score. It is the go to school in SC for engineering and technology. Furman is liberal arts school as is Presbyterian. Daughter went to SC (I moved here in 1977 after graduating form UT Knoxville and had to follow the in state tuition and scholarship money) and difference in student body academics between Clemson and SC is very noticeable.

The honor code is pathetic in result, IMO. I know they have good intentions, but there is no way to enforce it for good results. You have 3 types of students:

1 - will never violate honor code
2 - will make honest mistakes and lapses in judgment
3 - never intended to follow honor code and breaks every rule

Group 2 is the people who get kicked out. I had friends kicked out of school for having sex with their GF 1 time. I had another friend who banged all the girls, had 2 DUIs, but just lied through his teeth and graduated from there.

Not being allowed to have sex would eliminate them from any consideration.

A friend of mine went to South Carolina and she always made fun of Clemson, in part, because of how easy it was to get admitted. She said they have a program with a nearby community college that if you complete within a certain time and with a certain GPA, that you can be automatically be admitted to Clemson.

Funny story, I got accepted into Clemson but didn't get accepted into Tennessee....

Clemson is a good engineering school, but it's not all that difficult to get into. I have family and friends who went or are current students there, and knowing them and their grades, there's no way.

Apparently you have no clue and your friend is incorrect - I have 2 kids and one went to each of these schools(both went on full academic scholarships) Son to Clemson in 2000 and daughter to SC in 2004
Clemson has much higher entrance requirements

US News Rankings:
CU National Rank = 62
USC National Rank= 112

Start Class Rankings:
CU National Rank = 63
USC National Rank= 108

CU Average ACT= 28
USC Average ACT= 26

CU Average SAT= 1795
USC Average SAT= 1792

CU Smart Rating= 96
USC Smart Average = 92

Clemson has a program with Tri County Tech in nearby Anderson SC but transfer to Clemson is based on academic performance - this program is offered to kids on the Clemson waiting list as a second chance at gaining admission by performance

It mostly depends on what you do once you get into school and then what you do afterwards is what's important. How hard a supposed school is to get into means very little.

As I said before, no sc school is hard to get into, both sc and clemson are easy.

Not really since most kids in that program never make it into Clemson. It exists but not as you described it.

BTW - What instrument do you play in POTS?
