Harrison Bailey in the transfer portal

He was down the depth chart under Heupel too.

He’s simply not that good.
I mean he started with Pruitt though. I just wonder if Heupel had gotten him out of HS and developed him would he have been better. I mean he is 6th all time in Georgia HS passing yards. He is second all time for passing yards in a season and 8th all time in passing TDs. All that while playing in one of the most difficult divisions in Georgia. You don’t get to that without being good.

who was the QB from Florida that was down to us and OSU. I think he ended up going to OSU. got a car ride on one of his visits to us from a fan? Terrence Gibson or something like that?

he was hyped to hades and back.

Was it about 10 years ago? I remember us recruiting a Torrance Gibson who ended up with the Buckeyes.

Don't remember anything about a car ride, but was when Botch was here so nothing would surprise me.

I seem to remember him switching to WR and that not panning out either. Last I heard he was at Cincy, but that has probably been 8-9 years ago.

As I kind of put the pieces together iny head, wouldn't he have been in the same class as JG? Kinda looks like we might have switched our attention to JG after Gibson bailed. God help us all, there was no winning in that situation.

Torrance Gibson, dual threat guy - not sure he seriously entertained Tennessee but I'm sure Butch made some ridiculous offers to him.

He came in as an athlete was immediately converted to WR, saw limited action and was kicked off team (domestic abuse allegation I think).

Believe he went to a C.C. or JUCO then landed in the CFL.

This was back when OSU had Joe Burrow, Dwayne Haskins, Braxton Miller, J.T. Barrett, Cardale Jones on campus at the same time. One of the most stacked QB rooms you will ever see in college.

ah sh*t, here we go again.

Bailey get the back up job with Lagaway the starter.
Lagaway gets hurt either during our game, or right before it.
Bailey comes into our game with no tape at FL.
Our defense is completely unprepared for him, and he beats us after our defense never adjusts.

How is he still in college? he trying to be a doctor?

That would be the ultimate kick in the dick . Go down to Gainesville with a playoff spot on the line, Lagway is hurt and the disgruntled 5 star backup QB who was told to leave by Tennessee starts and plays his ass off. That would be the most Tennessee thing ever

Man, just don’t even put that evil on me, Ricky Bobby. But you both spoke exactly the first thing that popped into my BVS brain when I heard about this.

LOL, I remember someone picking a fight with me a few weeks ago about how trash Bailey was and how he couldn't play in the SEC.

He looked really good in that bowl game with Louisville. No clue if that translates over to Florida, but don't be shocked if he goes there and gets the starting job. He looks so much better than he did when he was here.

I still take Nico over him (Nico much better runner and improviser), but Bailey has improved immensely under Brohm.

There is absolutely no way he wins the starting job at UF barring an injury to Lagway.

Hell, Florida basically kept Sunbelt Billy as coach because Lagway likes him, I doubt they're gonna send him to the bench for Bailey

If he goes in and wins the starting spot I would be floored. There is 1% chance he takes over the starting spot for a fully healthy Lagway.

lol. His bowl game stats were pedestrian. Has he improved since being here? Sure. I mean he was horrible here. Now he is maybe decent. Bailey doesn’t possess anywhere near the skill that Lagway does. Bailey will be on the bench just like he always has. How has he improved immensely?

Yeezus man! Why?! Is he just trying to get some NIL money?

Thought he was in a good spot next year at Louisville after an impressive bowl performance. I've said it a dozen times, I don't mind these kids getting paid, but I hate this "switching teams every year" crap.
He will likely have a BS in Accounting from one school and a MS in engineering from another.

His style/ability is polar opposite of Lagway. While he might be a serviceable backup, the offense would have to totally change when he's in

The worst thing to ever happen to him was getting his 5th star so late in the recruiting process. Second worst thing was committing to Pruitt. I wonder what he could have been under Heupel for a few years.
The worst thing to happen to him was modern offenses now requiring the QB to have running ability. He was more in the ELI and Peyton old school mode. Watching even NFL offenses calling designed plays for QB runs these days.

Sounds like Bailey to UF is a done deal.

So usually when a team gets down to their 3rd QB, they are screwed. But in UF’s case last year, when Mertz and Lagway went down, they were beyond screwed. They brought in a guy who literally could barely even complete a pass.

So Bailey is a welcome addition. Experienced, older, and has some arm talent. Nice depth piece for UF and a clear upgrade from what’s currently on the roster.
