UT still lacks that elite PG. Golden is pretty good and got better as the season went along, but he's not elite. With that said, if he would've gotten hurt last year, UT would've been in a world of hurt.

Not sure I agree because it's impossible to put a bar on Goldens abilities. He's improved so much in every way since he's been here and I don't think he's reached his full potential yet. I agree he'll never be as talented as a guard that plays at Duke or UK but Martin's system doesn't need that impressive of a PG. Just a good floor general which I think Golden is...

We'll see...should be interesting

You do remember Golden having trouble guarding don't you? He's not the quickest cat. He should be much better though this year with an entire year of Martin's system under his belt as will the rest of the team. The sky is the limit for this team this year. If we can get some sort of consistency out of our wing play then this team can make some noise.

I still think a lot of Goldens quickness issues were related to the body transformation he put himself through. He got huge(muscle), and I fully believe he almost got too big, and defintely too big til fast for his frame.

Now, will he ever be John wall quick, no. However, I think he'll be quicker this year, and couple that with understanding the angles and things he can do to compensate against quicker guards and I think you'll see an improve golden in defense.

What will be interesting now is the domino effect that will be triggered by the twins committing. You will start to see where the rest of the elite decide to go, little by little. If Wiggins reclassifies to the 2013 class and comes to UK along with the twins and/or Randle, it's going to be another wild ride in 2014.
