I have a feeling people are going to reject this and we are going to see HP fans start sounding a lot like the toxic SW fans.

Everything about the series goes through JK Rowling.

However a lot of nuts or HP fans doesn't like her now because she's not gungho about the LGTB stuff.

There will be some that will be vocal about her trans comments but that hasn’t really slowed anything down to date. If the the dedicated HP section at Barnes and Noble, the Universal Parks expanding, the Lego sets still taking up lots of shelf space, this show moving forward, etc says the franchise thill has lots of life left.

I just think the generation that grew up with the movies don’t want a new version.

I can see that. However with the Wizarding World you could have a very good Hogwarts tv show based before or after the events of films. Now with that being said I wasn't a fan of the Fantastic Beasts films.

I think they'd be crazy not to. It's a much deeper dive into the cannon and I don't think the movies are actually anything special other than the cast and that it's Harry Potter.

I’m not an HP purest so it makes sense to me to dive deeper into the books with a series. I just know how fan culture operates.

People can call me what they want for saying this, I frankly don’t care. I will not watch this sh**. It’s sickening that the need it still felt to shove this garbage down our throats. We get it. There is zero reason for this move over than the agenda.

They said they would stay faithful to the books. It's a shame, I was looking forward to this.

Odd casting for Snape but i do love Lithgow as Dumbledore. Adam Driver would have made a good Snape but I was personally hoping for Brett Goldstein

Looks like solid casting for the three leads. Which makes the casting of Snape look even more puzzling.

"Sickening" and "garbage" LMAO

Imagine letting the color of an actor's skin bother you this much. Do they have a word for that?

What is the supposed "agenda" again? Oh, yeah, inclusion. The horror!

Yeah, can't be good since a black guy is in it.
In the books Snape is described as "a thin man with sallow skin, a large, hooked nose, and yellow, uneven teeth. He has shoulder-length, greasy black hair which frames his face, and cold, black eyes. He wears black, flowing robes which give him the appearance of "an overgrown bat".

Sallow = Describes a sickly, yellowish, or pale complexion, often associated with poor health or weakness.

You're really just going off skin color and hair and saying the casting is good based off that. Incredible.
Like the original casting?

Look at every other casting choice for this project and it's almost spot on compared to the books and the film series and then you have the Snape decision.

Bro, I don't even know what sallow means. It's a completely unimportant detail to the entire HP universe. It's only important to insecure whites.

OMG, Rickman had a honker, but it wasn't a hook nose. How could they get that wrong?
