Via Thamel, Chris Low, and Cole Cuberic:

Though, feels like it's going to be an uphill battle for Harsin from here. Derek Mason wanted out so bad, he took a $400k pay cut and went to Oklahoma State. Unless he pulls out a miracle season in 2022, he's going to be perpetually on the hot-seat. Almost feels reminiscent of all the stuff that went on behind the scenes after Dooley's 2nd season at UT.

Interesting. Either there’s not enough to prove the issue with the assistant or the Auburn admin. is trying to show the boosters that they are in control and are being stubborn. Either way I don’t think this is done yet. They’ve just thrown a little water on the dumpster fire. All I got to say is he better win next season.

Per official report,

"When compared to Bruce Pearl, Coach Hard&Sin is not all that creepy.."

Harsin can’t recruit and can’t keep assistants and is a cultural misfit at Auburn. They should’ve went ahead and paid up and fired him now instead of later cause it’s inevitable at this point he won’t last there and it’s abundantly clear that their administration never wanted him.

They might not have the cash on hand to. They just paid Gus $21m to go away, and half of that was due in a lump sum right after they fired him. Harsin's buyout right now sits at $18m.

I think the boosters are behind all of this. If they are the ones behind this they should have ponied up the 18 million to get rid of him. We all know this crap was a "yellowwood" move, rumor was he wanted CKS their big buddies.

I think they could get the cash they have some very well off boosters down there but their thinking probaly was the bad press would’ve killed them so they decided to save face and keep him but they still come off looking bad and dysfunctional it’s funny to watch and Im glad it’s not us for once.

They do, but they already tapped those boosters for a bunch of cash to fire Gus. I think their plan all along was to fire Harsin for cause, and when they went back and consulted with the lawyers and found out they didn't have a good case for doing so, decided to keep him.

He pulled in 12 - 4* out of 18 in this class, per Rivals. Pretty solid class for a 6-7 season.

Auburn set themselves back five years minimum. They’ve hamstrung this guy. He won’t be able to recruit and if he’s somehow successful by some miracle he bails at the first decent job offer.

Too bad some of the kids they beat us out for didn't hop into the portal before the deadline as a precaution. Bet some of them might have had second thoughts and could have joined us this year.
