Arkansas has said they want their next coach to be the highest paid in college football. Arkansas is still looking after 8 months!

Is Hart completely incompetent? Either Gurden is in the bag or someone else is hired or He is over his head and needs to be fired. He should have been looking for a head coach since the 2011 KY game!!! He has had over a year to compile a list and should have already interviewed by now!!!

I love how because we don't know what Hart is doing we assume he is incompetent and lazy. Don't let your impatience and this AD's amazing ability to keep things locked up (which it should) lead you to start making such statements.

And as for Hart looking since 2011 Kentucky... I am sorry but this is silly. Other than maybe going over it in his head what was he supposed to do? How bad of a message is it to any potential candidates that we are willing to go behind our coaches back in any capacity while he is still employed?

Will never happen.....Saban will be the highest in college football as long as he is at Alabama......this is a fact....built into agreement.....

I will reserve comment until we have an official announcement who the HC at UT is.

I agree. There are many other great options out there, but Gruden is basically the only name floating around. This search is a little weird in that respect.

The two best names out there are Petrino and Tressel. The 3rd and 4th might be Butch Davis and Phil Fulmer. It is going to take a while for Hart to warm the fan base up to these guys unless you want another up and comer!

There would be nothing with hiring Fedora, Strong, Mora or basically any other winning coach. What Tennessee just had was a joke from the get go. Damn near anything is an upgrade.

I want to give Hart the benefit of a doubt that he will get the home-run hire.

If he does, great...he did his job.

If not, then I suspect 100,000 chucky dolls will be dropped on his house.

Yeah, it would be hard to warm up the fanbase because none of those guys could win an SEC championship here now.

Thing is, at this point, either Hart is on the verge of closing the Gruden deal, or he is incompetent. I mean, he hasn't left campus yet. He's not out there interviewing candidates or trying to recruit a big name. He's sitting in his office. At this level of coaching search, that's incompetent, unless you already have your guy and he's the best guy out there. Otherwise, you damn well better be trying everything you can to get the best guy out there and to beat your competition to the punch.
