Hart has failed (again)

(I think it's been great that we've had "Gruden-lite" this offseason with the basketball team).

Hart has failed again.

First, he allowed Bruce to go to a rival. Second, he failed, as with the Gruden rumors, to put the kibosh on the possibility of Bruce coming back home this year.
.

Let's see, Gruden himself went on Mike & Mike and put an end to the Gruden to UT rumors...or so he thought. The Internet conspiracy theorists took it upon themselves to break down every word he said and created their own decoder ring to keep the frenzy going. If Dave Hart is that concerned over chatroom meatheads then he isn't fit to be the AD of any school.

With that said, how was Hart supposed to put an end to the Pearl rumors when the team was in the middle of their season? Hold a press conference "supporting" Coach Martin? Yeah, that would look sincere. If the coach has support you don't need to hold press conferences stating the coach has support.

Pearl was never coming back to Tennessee. The lying, scumbag, self-promoting bag of wind is finally off the market. Now maybe these delusional idiots who post on here will get on with their lives.

Not to mention Pearl himself stood in Nashville just weeks ago and told Vol fans to support Martin. But nobody took that at face value, they tried to sift through that like everything else.

This is blow by Hart on historic levels. Bruce lives in Knoxville as does his family. No bball coach has been as successful at UT in that time frame as Pearl. His show cause is gone this summer. Stokes, Jordy and Maimon will be gone next season. No superstar commits in the pipeline. Hubbs is only star quality. Vols will be in the cellar next year and vols will be looking for a new coach. Yes this was very complicated situation with team still to play in NCAA and Auburn surely knowing the vols predicament and told Pearl take it or leave it now. But you expect talented AD's to master that.

That would have been the classic signal that he was at least fighting to Bring Back Bruce.

Dave "Sit on my hands" Hart though has, well, sat on his hands.

Exactly, and then they get wound up when the scenario they created in their mind doesn't happen.

It WAS a special situation that would have taken a lot of bottle and a lot of sophisticated dealing from the AD.

Dave "sit on his hands" Hart though... I think he has another shot next year to BBB. Maybe he can make good, but I lack confidence.

Hart has failed again.

First, he allowed Bruce to go to a rival. Second, he failed, as with the Gruden rumors, to put the kibosh on the possibility of Bruce coming back home this year.

He would have sat on his hands with Dooley except for the colossal failure to find Rommel. He is sitting on his hands with Cuonzo now. He has articulated no vision for the program.

The only good news is I like our chances of bringing back Bruce next year if we have the season we expect next year. I should say "would" like our chances except for the dynamic duo of Hart & Cheek.

Nothing against Cuonzo. Cuonzo >> Dooley. However, we had the basketball Gruden equivalent in Knoxville (possibly >> Gruden), and the AD has to date seemingly done nothing (again).

I can't fathom how people have been enjoying this "gruden-lite" scenario this basketball season. Just goes to show how conditioned our fan base has been to accept coaching changes to the point of lusting after it. I understand that it creates drama, and people love drama. But all it does is hinder the success of the program.

Secondly, why would the AD perpetuate the drama by even addressing the #BBB rumors? Validating the rumors by publicly addressing them, even if the AD shot down the possibility, would've created even more of an uproar.

This. The victim syndrome that we have attributed to Bruce Pearl is unfathomable.

He is going to march down to the Plains today and fill them with the same line of BS (destination job, AU gave me a chance, I love AU, this is my home) that he fed us starting 9 years ago.

He is a salesman, and a really good one. If anyone really believed he was as pro-Tennessee as he portrayed, then you bought his pitch, hook, line, & sinker.

Bruce Pearl is looking out for Bruce Pearl, and he now has a new fanbase to fleece. I wish he had never left, but he is solely to blame for that. He isn't a victim of anything but himself.

That's exactly what cbj did n everyone has taken that bait

You have absolutely no idea what Hart did or did not do.

Yeah he should have turned down the Auburn job for the sake of your feelings. That's awful. He didn't take in consideration the Vol fan base when it came to His next career move. Moronic.

I was agreeing with you. It doesn't hurt my feelings in the least.

Enough crying. He was never coming back. Thanks for what you did for us Bruce. Time to move on.

Cuonzo is still learning how to coach at this level. I think he is getting better, and I hope he has great success here.

Support our boys. That's what matters most. Go Vols. Beat Iowa.

Well said! I'm going to support who we got as a coach and not who we don't have

How did Hart fail? He didnt "allow" Bruce to do anything. What did you expect him to do? Fire CM right before his very first tourney game?

You have failed (again)
