Ok, maybe just indirectly...

But, he specifically said that previous head coaching experience is extremely important for this hire. Seems to mean no Kirby or any other assistants to me.

He said this job demands experience.

Did the Bama conspiracists catch that?

Good quote from a Washington DC sports anchor @DanHellie on his twitter

"Raheem Morris would neither confirm no deny report he'd been contacted by Gruden to gauge interest in joining him in college ranks"

Next quote said how Raheem doesn't know anything about Gruden's plans but Gruden would win every year at UT.

WINNING!

Jimbo Fisher maybe. I hear he is unhappy with the AD at FSU. I would love Chip Kelly.

I got the impression Jimbo wasn't going anywhere for a while. I also believe Chip Kelly is either at Oregon or going pro. I don't think we have a shot at him.

Gruden or bust! I Agree. This time do it right and hire the best. The program has suffered not to mention all the revenue that has been lost. Get another mediocre coach and they might as well drop the program!

Sounds like Petrino

People need to just stop this Petrino talk. With the current state of our program, and with the fresh baggage he would bring, there isn't a single recruit with a star by his name that would even consider coming here. we would go UNDER rock bottom with a hire like that.

Was Gruden a university head coach?

He won a superbowl.... He's coached at this level before. He's recruited before, and he's scouted players for the NFL. He knows what it takes to win, and he'll dominated the recruiting trail.

If there is a push for academic standards I cannot see them going the opposite with standards by hiring Petrino. He may be a good coach but there seems to be an overall standard the higher ups are pushing and Petrino and his extracurricular activities would be counter to that.

Chip Kelly would listen because Oregon is about to get the NCAA hammer laid on them!

I would be OK with Fisher, Gruden, Strong, Freeze, Mullin, or Patterson.

I could probably warm up to Briles, Pelini, Gundy, and a few others.

I hope they do NOT go after Petrino, the Sweater vest, or anyone else with integrity issues.

Briles? Really? I'm curious to why people like him. You aren't the first to mention his name, and I'm not real sold on him as a coach.

Gruden doesn't have the college coaching experience imo. He's too unproven, he's never built a program up.
