Hart on hiring Kirby Smart

Gruden doesn't have the college coaching experience imo. He's too unproven, he's never built a program up.

He's an offensive minded genius. It's not just UT fans that want him. Everyone wants him, but he sets his own sail so to speak. He does what he wants because he knows the opportunity to coach will always be there. This is why it'd be great "if" he chose to come here, because it'd mean he truly wanted to be here.

You have ***led up by saying this. You have totally screwed the whole deal with JG. May the lord have mercy on your soul because the Volnation sure as hell is not.

Briles? Really? I'm curious to why people like him. You aren't the first to mention his name, and I'm not real sold on him as a coach.

I agree. He's had one really good year at Baylor in five and doesn't play a lick of defense.

I've been naysaying a Gruden hire since day 1. Before the Dallas game today, there was a whole spot on why they would not be surprised if Gruden ended up at TN. I'm not sure why, but hearing this made me think that it's certainly a possiblity.

Completley agree. Given that we've been bitten by that bug twice, I'd shy away from any of Saban's minions.

If there is a push for academic standards I cannot see them going the opposite with standards by hiring Petrino. He may be a good coach but there seems to be an overall standard the higher ups are pushing and Petrino and his extracurricular activities would be counter to that.

David Shaw ?

Given Petrino's tenure with Atlanta and AK, i'd turn tail and run like the wind from the sheer mention of his name. He's definitely what we DON'T need right now.

I think Petrino after watching his wife's heart break is a very humble and broken man, willing to do anything to prove he is a changed man. He's made his mistakes as we all have and he's at a all time low in his life. With that said, I think he would be a pretty safe hire and a damn good coach.

Anybody chunking rocks from a glass house?
