Has any of my fellow Vols Fans ever been to Aspen, Colorado?

Yes, but that was back in 1976... Chances are, it's changed quite a bit since then.

Things changed, I have to fly into Denver now... Staying in Aurora; but avoiding any movie theaters. I use my jail broke Amazon Firestick. I guess WinterPark will be my ski destination. So, new topic... What to do in Denver? Tuesday-Saturday.

The Aurora joke was uncalled for (and unfunny) but the Denver area has plenty to do.

1. Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs
2. Red Rocks, Museum and hike to top of Mount Morrison
3. Coors Brewery in Golden
4.Stranahans Whiskey Distillery tour
5. Hang out in Boulder
6. LoDo or City Park for bars

Blackhawk is an old mining town turned casino town. It's 30-45 min away and a nice drive in the mountains.

Check out an Avs game if they are in town. They suck this year so tickets should be cheap.
There are some cool music venues in Denver, so see if there is any live music you may enjoy.
As mentioned above, LoDo and City Park are good areas for restaurants and bars.

This thread really belongs in The Pub or something like that, but until it's moved....

I live in Apison. Not a lot of skiing. Heard the weed is better in Colorado.

Not my favorite. Love Big Sky. That's my choice.

Big Sky's awesome. Never seen it really crowded and what a view! Aspen's a little snooty but beautiful and great skiing. You'll see celebs there as it's a small town. If you can get to Maroon Bells in the winter it makes for good photography.

Breckinridge is great. You can fly into Denver and drive out. People there are friendly and you have a choice of many, many slopes. I recommend you leave a cushion to make it back to the airport in case of heavy snow.

If you're not experienced, take a lesson. Well worth the $ even if you want to learn advanced. As someone said, take it easy. Your body can tire fast. Just a few runs a day, followed by a hot tub and adult beverage, will make the trip better.

Breck is amazing. I am out there hiking/climbing yearly.

Go to Downstairs at Erics for Pizza. Eric is also the mayor of Breck. If you are into hiking, Quandary Peak outside of Breck is a nice, easier 14er. I do warn you, there is no such thing as an easy 14er. Well worth it though.

Add a significant cushion for traffic. In the last few years it has become a nightmare.

Someone mentioned concert venues in Denver. Check out the Ogden, Bluebird, or Paramount Theatre. Some good comedy clubs there as well.

If you are wanting a very good/easy hike with a view check out Chief Mountain. The summit overlooks the Mount Evans massif.

Very true. If you want to see the Maroon Bells at their very best, however, go during the fall "gold rush," i.e. when the aspen are at their peak (late September, typically). If you want to see the crown jewels of the Colorado Rockies, visit the Sneffels Range, a portion of the San Juan range, located near Ridgway and Telluride. As beautiful as Rocky Mountain NP is, the Sneffels Range positively puts that area to shame.

I've been to the Sneffels and RMNP, I disagree, they are equally beautiful IMO.
