"An impossible dilemma" of using a thermonuclear device to stop the leak? That makes no sense. I'd rather leak hundreds of thousands (millions?) of barrels of oil than detonate a nuclear weapon off America's coast.
That first link is off it's rocker.
How to create a volcano 101??
Gsvol, my theory is that it was muslims masquerading as North Koreans, with the help of the Mexican drug lords. The torpedo was built by illegal aliens I'm told.
I just don't buy that it was one big f* up by the oil industry.
That kenyan born muslim got some splainin' to do.

Muslims can't swim you dodo, they are all camel jockeys, don't you have a burger to flip?? Don't laugh just yet.
MINI SUBMARINE-A VESSEL OF CHOICE WITH DRUG CARTELS AND TERRORISTS
Reportedly, in June 1999, the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) had made enquires with North Korea for a possible sale of a mini submarine. A brochure describing a mini submarine 45-foot long with the capacity to carry six persons, including two divers
designed for special operations with a good tactical range and a low noise level was found. North Korea has sold more than 10,000 automatic rifles and other arms to the MILF. In early 2003, Philippines forces had discovered some documentation from the MILF camp, which suggested that the MILF was considering purchasing underwater scooters from Scandinavia.
GS, that's been addressed in the oil rig thread. They were not actual Special Weapons And Tactics teams. It's a case of government lingo. They were safety response teams from MMS in the interior department. This is mentioned here:
Federal Eye - Oil spill: The government's response
They released their findings, which are discussed here:
About Those Oil Rig S.W.A.T. Teams
| RedState
Were the MMS emergency response teams armed or not?
If so, then why?
Why does the Post (aka pravda on the potomac) call them 'swat teams?'
The insanity comment was directed at anyone who lends credence to some white supremacist media outlet parading itself as a credible source or a broad range of conspiracy theorists that seem to be popping out of the woodwork as of late (seriously, why are the truthers so visible right now?) If that applies to you gs, then yes that comment was directed at you.
Also, it was a movie quote.
Like Brad Pitt is some sort of authority on internatioal incidents or psychology.
Another movie quote; "The truth? You can't stand the truth!"
As for what you call 'supremacist', they seem no worse than Pat Buchanon and he appears weekly on Sunday mornings on national TV. (not that I'm a big fan of his.)
If I were a frenchman and there were 750+ areas in my own country that were forbidden for me to enter, I would be concerned, wouldn't you if you were a Frenchman?
Some folks are knee jerk reactionaries when anything is presented that doesn't fit their own mindset.
If that applies to you emain, then so be it.
and using a comment on an ABC blog as proof that this is out there is actually worse.
it was done by aliens. Posted on the internet so it must be true. When will the gov't address my claims???
Not proof but something worth investigating.
CBS:
S. Korea was Warned of Suicide Submarine Plots - CBS News
We know:
NK has the capability.
NK has the fanaticism and boldness.
NK has a long history of sub attacks on the south including the attempted landing of commandos in which dozens of people were killed.
Russian navy sources are reported to have stated it as fact. (why would they blow the whistle?)
We don't know (at least us on this board):
The location of the NK ship, the 'Dai Hong Dan' at the time in question. (that should be easily ascertained by LSM with their vast resources)
We don't know if this is disinformation or the truth presented in a way designed to escalate tensions.
In short we don't know one way or the other whether this is true or not true.
I havn't reached a conclusion although many of you obviously have without knowing for sure.
