........ a single comment anywhere referring to the Texas fans as classless, boorish, a 'mob', or anything else for their behavior last night? The only reference that was close was one article that, while criticizing it made sure to point out how much faster it was "under control" than the Tennessee crowd in the Ole Miss game. Everything was about the officials changing the call.

I generally don't bitch about 'media bias' because I don't really give a rat's ass what the hack national media says or thinks, but I found the double standard pretty striking.

Was barely mentioned. To everyone else, Tennesseans are dumb hicks, and they treat us that way. That's why in another post, I suggested mailing UTx French's Mustard bottles.

I have been to a game at Austin, worse fans than Georgia
Really? To be honest, I've never researched it. I didn't think they could be worse. I was at the Oklahoma game and they were great (first ever trip to the state). Quite a stark contrast. Although it was abundantly clear they hated Texas. I guess I know why now.

4.6M views not sure what the magic number is for “media bias”. Kirby calling it out in an interview on the field and press meeting after the game.

That's pretty bad. I have never been to a Gabe in Austin, but the UGa fabs are horrible.

Honestly, games in Austin are weird.

You have half which is normal TX (cookouts, etc) which is cool. The other half is some kind of wine and cheese crowd who prefer to keep themselves away from the riff-raff.

To have a venue with the seating capacity of DKR stadium, the place has always been fairly quiet when I have been there. Granted, I haven't been to a game since they became good again so perhaps things have changed.

Before the Big 12 started falling apart they were hands down the most hated for being the most arrogant entitled jerks ever.

I can agree with that. I worked in the Midwest as a corporate compliance officer for a large company and ate lunch with a variety of guys for 2 years that were Texas, A&M, Kansas, K State, etc….alumni. They were the most arrogant and snooty pricks I’ve ever encountered.

The refs did get the call correct eventually. I don't blame the crowd for throwing the bottles. Yes, they shouldn't but that initial call was egregious.
On another issue, TN got a lot of positive penalty calls. I'm used to the Bama players getting away with murder, always thought the refs were paid by Bama sympathizers. Still, although a lot of penalties, a lot of no calls on both teams. Just glad we got the W and sent the gumps packing. Have no sympathy for them--ever.

A lot of Gumps today are squealing like stuck pigs over the officiating last night. They are not used to playing by the rules. It is glorious. Feel sympathy for the spouses and pets though.

The real concern I have is that they reversed a call that by definition is nonreviewable. I hate saying it but Kirby has a valid argument.

Agree, he’s not wrong, they’ve basically said “if you cause enough of a scene, you may get the call in your favor” the initial call was wrong, but it wasn’t reviewable and it never gets overturned if they game doesn’t get stopped for that period of time by trash being thrown.
