The real concern I have is that they reversed a call that by definition is nonreviewable. I hate saying it but Kirby has a valid argument.
If they had reversed the call on review, that would be a big deal. The refs have always been able to talk to each other and correct a call. The fact that those calls aren't always correct is one of the reasons reviews were started in the first place.

I don’t do social media. Someone please tell me the writers that ripped the Vols vs Ole Miss are getting hammered for being silent over a much worse display by TX fans.

There was no review. The refs conferred and the ref who made the initial call admitted he screwed up so they corrected it. They are allowed to confer.

2 major differences in what happened there vs in Neyland in 2021: (Not necessarily excusing either situation)

1. Of course it was brought under control quickly...the call was reversed...home fans were satisfied.
2. This happened in the 3rd quarter I believe...Ours was a critical call late in the 4th with the game squarely on the line. No real comparison.

Not defending it all, but it did seem most of the debris was grown into an empty end zone? Let’s face it, most fans were aiming for Kiffen and UM players were getting pelted too.

Well, after all, Austin’s motto is “Keep Austin Weird”.

Very true. There is however a "good weird" and a "bad weird".

Austin when it was good weird was pretty cool

Now its just an overcrowded mess of people busy trying to sniff their own farts.
