Has anyone used Uber or Lyft?

Ran around DC like kings and queens using Uber at Christmas, black escalades and denalis. Love it. And free waters to boot.

Uber and Lyft should commission a study of DUIs issued, DUI related accidents, and DUI related deaths in areas they serve. I bet the results are overwhelming. **** the taxi medallion owners. Buggy whip manufacturers weren't kept in business with government regulation... neither should taxi cartels.

Used it this weekend for the local Brewfest. About a 10 mile drive there and only cost us 23.00

Used the service last weekend twice. To the concert was 9.96. I tipped 5 bucks

Tip back from the concert. 42.00. Rates were 4.5x higher due to demand.

I am a little confused. You are uncertain whether you are allowed to give money to people?

No, I assumed that it was customary to tip a driver. However, responses in the thread suggest not to tip. I didn't know if there was an Uber policy against it, or if some people are just cheap bastages.

Do not tip them, it's not necessary

There is no tipping option with the app........so there's that. Everyone would "appreciate" a tip, but it's not the normal thing when using uber

Agreed. It defeats the purpose of the app. It's a seamless, paperless transaction. If they want to include a tip option they are more than welcome to. I want to order a car on my phone, hop in and get out when I'm done.
