I've always wondered what the benefit is to expanding to 12, 14 or now 16. The common thought is media market expansion. Really? The SEC has proven itself to be the conference of champions with the ORIGINAL 10 teams!!! I say RETRACT and cut the pie into bigger slices. WTF needs ANY of the expanded teams? It's all stupid. People are going to watch the best football no matter if they have a team in the conference or not. The media market stuff is over played. Most people can stream now and can get ANY game from ANY part of the country. The Super Conferences are what is really being pushed. Basically NFL AAA league.

....and you can thank E$PN for that. They have basically made conference championships irrelevant. Heck, they've nearly made all bowl games (outside the playoffs) irrelevant with many players "skipping" the bowl game to avoid injury.

Yes, CFB has become the minor leagues for the NFL. NIL has only emphasized it further.

Enjoy!! :-(

how is ESPN responsible for any of that?

At worst ESPN is responding to what the fans want/pay for.

If all of those schools leave the ACC, the NCAA can kiss football goodbye. The SEC and the B1G would have their own 4 team playoff to determine a champion. Then those two play for it all. All the other conferences would have to sit and watch.
