Has UT football ever been down as much as it is now?

Dooley spoiled us with those 3 conference wins and trip to the music city bowl in 2010. Yeah this feels much worse then 2008. That was one really bad year but this is 3 in a row after a very average year in 2009. Dooley took over a train wreck and just let it rust.

OMG it's even worse then I thought. A quick look at history shows we have now lost 47 games in the last 8 years. Next week will make it 48 losses for an average of 6 losses a year. No wonder we can't recruit we have sucked ever since these high school kids have been watching football. I knew it was bad but I guess I just quit counting. Dayum we really are Vanderbilt, Kentucky, Mississippi. :cray:

In those 8 years we have only won 8 conference games not including Vanderbilt and Kentucky

IDK if the fans have ever been this disgusted or if the coaching has ever been this bad. There's a lot of talent on this team, but you'd never know it. If we don't remove Dooley, we could easily go 4-8 and set a new record to the downside. At this point, he's a huge liability.

To late to change it now 5-7 is almost a given. It's never to early to fire Dooley though

I think we should appoint an interim tomorrow. Dooley is doing more harm than good now. Bray and some of the other players clearly have issues with him, and we need Bray to beat Vandy. If that's still possible.

This will be the first time ever that Vol fans didn't out number Vandy fans in Nashville. It can't get any worse then that for Tennessee.

in the history of the modern era of college football, (say as far back as when neyland was first hired as ut head coach) has ut every been down this bad? Have they ever had a team with a defense like this? I've followed this team since the year before dickey came to ut. I can't think of any. This team is good enough offensively, but you don't win many games without a defense.

I've seen some bad years and some of the games I'd like to forget...Rutgers, Memphis State, Vandy but honestly...this year ranks up here

I didn't actually see the game since I was hunting all day, but I remember getting back in the truck and hearing the score and thinking they must have got the score reversed.

UT has never had a 8 loss season. The odds are very low it happens this year, but if it does only then would I call this "the worst ever".

For our standards yes. Let's face it, we are down but not out. Any coach who comes in has a chance to do will quickly. We still can get a bowl and the three weeks of practice.
