Hate Week: Vanderbilt

I didn't hate vandy until I moved to Nashville. Their arrogance is ridiculous. I have 2 vandy alum that work for me. They don't mouth off like other arrogant fans much, but i do remind them that my degree from UT seems to be doing fine when compared to theirs.

Hate the layout of their court. Teams under the basket is not what Naismith intended. Fix it Slive!

If you don't hate Vandy then there is most certainly one game you are forgetting. On Saturday Feburary 23, 2008, Tennessee was the number two ranked team in the nation and we traveled to Memphis to play the number one ranked Tigers. At that time (I don't know if it has changed since) it was the most watched regular season basketball game in ESPN history. The Vols squeezed out a victory by four points in a game that was for the ages. Two days later on the following Monday, the Vols were ranked number one in the nation for the first time in school history. 36 hours later, the Vols traveled to Vanderbilt and were beaten. It was an absolutely heart breaking game. I think of that game as one of the most disappointing moments in my life for Tennessee athletics. With all of that said, you really, really, really need to hate Vanderbilt.

Negavol much????? UT basketball program, outside of this year, has done better than it has for decades. First regular season SEC championship in over 40 years, first number 1 ranking in program history, first elite eight, and attendance was up over 7K per game under Pearl. Sounds more like basketball has improved.

UT athletics have not had any championships, but lots of the sports have been playing at the top. UT mens/womens basketball, mens golf, mens tennis, women's soccer, softball, etc But yes baseball has sucked the past 5 years or so

Maybe you should quit focusing on the few loses and see the big picture

Being a Vol in Nashville, hatin' vandie is like taking a breath. Fans are arrogant, ignorant & constipated...hence, the moniker: commode-doors.

You can have your underperforming, underbite basketball coach and that ****ty arena.
You can have your Vandyfan senior discounts for your fanbase at Shoneys prior to games.
You can have your concerns over hip fractures as a few of the 70yr old fans in the stands of 30k at a football game decide to rush the field and make a dvd of a win against a
.500 team.
And you can have your ugly women. I really am not sure that I have ever met an attractive woman from Vandy. I am about 0-173.
