This exactly. We’re fast in setting up to prevent the defense from adjusting. They can and do burn clock much better when they need to. Heupel has added this imo, they’re a lot more comfortable in shifting tempo up or down depending on what they’re trying to do.We are still fast to the line of scrimmage to prevent the defense substituting but then we let the clock run down some to survey the defensive alignment in my opinion.
It Seems to me we have slowed the tempo a little this year vs last year. We still play fast at times, but the number of series/plays we’ve run at lightening speed seems to be a little less this year.
The fake injuries seem way less this year as well.
Is it just me or has anyone else noticed this?
