What yall think about Haynes King? He damn near but UGA last season and the kid is a leader. He does have injury issues but I'd be all for bringing in. I think Huep and Hanes could get this offense purring.
Did he go into the portal or are you prodding someone to tamper. Not much of a passer IMO not the CJH type of QB but tough as nails, not a good fit for spread O.I watched him play last season and when healthy the kid balled out. He could barely stand and he damn near beat UGA. He's a helluva leader and a vet to boot. Doubt he leaves but money talks.
It's a Read Option with the emphasis being the run game. It's a different scheme of course but it wouldn't be a huge learning curve I wouldn't think but I'm no coach eitherWell, at least it would make the Gtech game that much easier lol
More seriously, Haynes is pretty good with a 71% comp rate last year and took them bowling the 2 years he has been there.
Those who know, isnt GTechs offensive scheme more like Heupels now? I know its no longer the triple option but IIRC, its a pro style spread.
He seems to be a quality person too. I expect we could get him reasonably priced and still make it sexy. $1.2-$1.4?
Well, in that case, I’ve got a year of eligibility left and I’m waaaay older than King. I’ll pick up this offense in two shakes of a stick. Of course, these days I run about 7.5 40, throw the ball about 40 yards if my shoulder doesn’t get dislocated in the process and I’ll do it all for the low, low price of a year supply of Buc-ees brisket sammiches.I like that he’s older. 24. Older players seem to pick up the system more quickly.
