Haynesworth wants to be traded

yeah but how many times do "I want to be traded" demands actually amount to anything? Didn't Anquan Boldin fuss about it for like two years before anything actually happened?

Of course now, start the mandatory "Titans are trying to trade to get haynesworth back" rumors

The dude needs to act like a professional... Tough it out. Don't sign long contracts if you don't want to commit to a place for more than a few years.

I don't blame him. They bring him in then completely switch defenses.

There are no certainties in football. Other than his fat ass contract. He needs to man up and earn his pay.

For what they are paying him, if they tell him to play free safety and eat dog food the only words out of his mouth should be "Thank you." He's a fat, malingering piece of garbage. He was for 90% of his colllege career and now is in the NFL. If he wants to give Washington their signing bonus back, he can cry all he wants about their scheme. Otherwise, he should shut the Hell up and actually attempt to earn his money.

A piece of garbage that was or probably still is the most dominate defensive lineman in the league. It will be hard for him to "earn his money" playing in a defense that doesn't suit him. IMO the skins should have thought of this before switching the schemes.

Keep telling yourself that. The only year he was remotely a consistent force was when he knew he had free agency coming. He's a goldbrick of the highest order. Snyder is getting exactly what he deserves for giving that kind of money to a slovenly loser like Haynesworth.

Even before his most dominate year or two, he was still one of the best. I think he deserved a big contract so i don't blame Snyder one bit.

You act like Snyder was the only one willing to give him a big deal.
Nobody said stupidity was limited to one franchise in the NFL. I'm simply pointing out that GMs who give lazy, no character trash like Haynesworth big deals are an agent's dream.

People always talk about the importance of "contract years" in baseball, but it seems to me that they have more of an impact on pro football than any other sport.

Yet, NFL GMs consistently ignore a guy's total career and focus on their performance with a paycheck in sight. Anyone who paid attention to Haynesworthless at any point in his career saw this coming.

I'm just amazed that when there is a 'one of these things is not like the other' year on the performance line in a contract year, teams line up to guarantee a guy who has applied himself for 20% of his career to that point tons of money and honestly believe they will get a solid effort.

I used to be, but not anymore. It happens time and time again.

The point really isn't if Haynesworth is one of the most dominate DL in the NFL.

He is.

Only when he wants to be.

Now that he's not in a contract year and especially now that he's "not happy" he'll literally be a $15mil/year 350 dead-weight. Shannahan and Allen will not tolerate it. He'll either suck it up and line up at NT or LDE in their 3-4 or he won't be in Washington. He and JaMarcus Russell will both be unemployed fat dead-weights. Shameful, really. Guy is a tremendous (literally) talent.
