Haynesworth wants to be traded

Haynesworth really isn't a 3-4 NT. So, I am sympathetic to a certain extent. But it's outweighed by the fact that's he's a sloth who spent more time on his back than anything else. You could count the games where he didn't get hurt on one hand. Add to that the obscene amount of money he's making and the fact that he criticized last year's DC as well. The way I see it, if the Skins could've gotten something of value for him he would've been gone on or before draft day. Since that's not the case, and he's already sitting on $32 mil, he needs to drag his fat butt into camp and make do. Allen and Shanahan absolutely need to hit him up for every cent that they can get back from him when all this voluntary stuff is over.

Albert is someone you build your defense around especially considering the money they dished out for him. That said, the Skins are not doing that.

Haynesworth did earn the contract he got though.

No he didn't, he's never been healthy enough to deserve that type of money. If he was healthy for a full 16 games, maybe somewhat, but the guy is a basket case and injury prone. All your doing is setting yourself up for disappointment if you do what Snyder did, and he's getting it right now.

It's not like he missed chunks of the season. When he is healthy, which is the majority of the time, he is the most dominant defensive lineman in the game.

The guy has 28 sacks in 9 years in the league, not exactly what I would call the most dominate at all.

I'm not butting in for either side here, but generally - even when they're really good - DTs dont get a whole bunch of sacks....it's kind of part of the nature of the position

Doesn't mean he didn't take up blockers and still get pressure. We saw how bad the Titans secondary and overall defense looked without the big man in the middle.

You could say that, but the most dominate player, as he is being referred to here, should be able to do better than that, IMO.

Yeah, and injuries in the secondary had nothing to do with that. It was all Albert's exit that caused that.

well in your opinion yes, but the way the numbers have always worked out, even with the most dominant DTs, it just doesn't happen. your edge guys gets them.

It'd be like comparing a linebacker and talking about how he doesn't make alot of interceptions (which that position rarely does also)

We had injuries? I could have sworn it was just Griffin and Hope playing pretty badly all year....plus the usual from Harper at this age

Trevor Pryce trumps Albert, and has for a long time.

Remember when we signed Hood and started the rookie we drafted, when Courtland was hurt?? Hope is past his prime, and Griffin will never be a Grade A safety in the NFL, IMO. We have a ton of secondary personnel problems.

Yet Hope, Courtland, and Griffin looked so good when Haynesworth was applying pressure.

That was before we lost our DC. Losing our DC hurt this year. We will be much better this year, or at least we should.

True the DC hurt, but Albert did a lot of that defense. It's easier to have a scheme when one guy can take on a double team and still create pressure.

you know he did play pretty well the last two years...

Cortland was hurt maybe what 3, four weeks tops? The pass defense was playing like absolute sh-t with or without him, don't get me wrong he's the best player at DB we have, but his injury wasn't the problem: the pass D was still bad when he was playing and when he got hurt it just got worst
