Heads up for Time Warner customers about the SEC Network

I'm getting worried about DIRECTV getting the SEC network. I've called several times and fill out the form every chance I get including once today and send it to get SEC network. If they don't get it I'm going to switch to dish or uverse but I hate AT&T so it'll probably be dish

You do realize At&t owns direct tv now dont you?

Not yet and probably not for at least another year. They've agreed on a price but there is a lot of regulatory hurdles they have to pass and that will take time.

I just re-upped with DirecTV for two years. I've been a customer since 1995 due to NFL Sunday Ticket and there's no way I am losing that. They are in negotiations for the SEC Network and I have the utmost confidence they will get it done.

I was on the phone with Comcast the other day and asked the guy about the SEC Network. He went on to say that they are currently in negotiations and most likely will be all the way into August. However, he did make it sound like Comcast will work something out and that they realize the importance of getting the SEC network. I'm not sure how much he really knew, but it's the first time I've gotten a real answer from them when asking about the SEC network.

Also, the customer service representative from Comcast was American which is a miracle, as Comcast, in my experience, is the worst about outsourcing their cs jobs.

Moving to a new city. No more fios, no comcast, no charter, no time warner. I get Cox? WTF?

In case someone else has Cox...slim chance I'd say. Was anyone heard where they stand with SEC network? I was talking with a rep on the phone and he assured me "Yeah, we have all those in the sports package." I tried to explain to him that it was not out yet, and they do not show Cox on the sec network website. He then proceeded to explain to me it was the same as the big 12 network and its part of the package.

How screwed am I?

You can use the fact that Time Warner has not negotiated a deal with the SEC Network yet as a bargaining chip to get your bill lowered pretty significantly.

I walked into my local Time Warner office last week and told them I wanted to cancel my TV service. The lady says that would be no problem, but when she started asking me questions on the exit survey I told her it was because they don't have the SEC Network, the deadline is approaching and I am going to switch to Dish because of it. The lady assured me that their corporate office has been telling them that they will for sure be getting the SEC Network before the deadline. She then offered me $30 off of my bill per month and a credit on last months bill.

Needless to say I accepted. So for those of you with Time Warner, I recommend giving this a try. Even if they don't get the SEC Network I will just cancel and switch to Dish. If they do then I just saved over $300 this year on my cable bill.

Comcast will raise it back up when the deal is final

I understand only reason im a direct tv customer is nfl ticket. Looks like at&t might get a decision a little earlier than a year. I read sometging yesterday they should know by end of september. I think the deal is done though. I hate at&t and not sure what I will do if it passes.
