my guess is the gov't (that entity he hates) and the taxpayers paid the other $20,000 of that bill.

We had that happen to a doctor who came in on our last day of our stay. We got something 6 months later telling us we were going to collections for an unpaid medical bill.

I just laughed and let the wife raising holy you know what.
