My favorite Rocky Top moment was when we were at a Bluegrass festival near Dover, TN. There was a band from Kentucky on stage playing. They asked if anyone had any request. I yelled Rocky Top! They all looked at each other like oh no!!! They played it but you could tell they wasn't into it at all. The moral of the story If you're a Bluegrass band from Kentucky and playing in Tennessee don't ask for request!!! lol

Yeah, I heard it a couple of weeks ago here in Guntersville, AL. at a bluegrass concert. They always make fun of it, but every bluegrass band in AL plays it.

I ride my beach cruiser in Long Beach, Ca. all the time. On my metal basket in the front I have a chrome reflective orange T license plate. I get people yelling Go Vols! and Rocky Top Wooooooo at me all the time. No that is an unlikely place to here Rocky Top.

Disney plays it at Magic Kingdom as part of a street show over in Frontierland. Heard it twice on separate visits to the park. Was fun to see the look on other SEC fans faces as their children danced to it during the show.

I heard Florida State play it to Gator fans to rub in a UT win back in the 90's. I was a UT man in enemy territory but LMFAO.

An opposing band in the NCAA's tournament in Charlotte played it for the sea of Kentucky fans one year in which we had whipped them.

In fairness, it's a campus fixture. I went to a show to see those 'lovely' ladies once as my friends and I all kinda dared one another into it and the campy nature of it all made it fun. It wasn't at all what I expected. Ah college... the days when almost anything can become an adventure. :)

Back in the summer of 01 I was working in Yellowstone National Park. Toward the end of the summer we had an employee appreciation night at the employee pub. The band closed with Rocky Top.

Afterwards I was partying with the band and they said they had never actually been to Tennessee but just liked the song.

Was at Restaurant Linderhof in Knoxville. Not that its strange to hear RT in Knoxville but being played by a polka band with an accordion on lead made it very different.
