Hearing that Doomsday (Rumor)

Since it seems to be a done deal with Dools gone. If we are to win the next two games do they announce that he will still coach the bowl game? If the Gruden deal is infact done. Then could we pull a OSU and have him recruiting while Dooley coaches the bowl?

Assuming he is willing to coach the bowl game you let him, while you search for a new coach. Otherwise an assistant would step up and do it. BTW, the Gruden deal is not a done deal. For those dreaming it might be.

I disagree. If he loses this weekend they have no reason to not fire him and make him public. If we do lose and they don't announce anything there are going to be some mob mentality anger rumbling in the community.

In that situation, it would make sense to go ahead and tell him but they are hoping they don't have that situation. He will still finish the season just as Fulmer did.

TN will have to fire Dooley Sunday either way. There won't be anybody at the KY game if they don't.

Exactly. Anyone thinking otherwise is just hoping.

Info I shared yesterday was identical to the OP. Dooleys last game is supposedly Vandy. I have no clue who the OP is and dont know his source. tifwiw

Win or lose I would go ahead and fire him Sunday if you are going to at some point. Name an interim coach and let the players go out and play for their own pride. I think the fan base would rally around them against Kentucky and if they made it to a bowl game.

Do not see it happening though.

If we get roadkilled by Vandy, maybe. Otherwise, no. Hart does not want to fire Dooley, and if he can't get a homerun hire (of which there are perhaps two), he will likely either offer Kirby Smart after UK or give Dooley another year by default. This is setting up to be a Randy Shannon-type scenario.

Could you not see a close win like (with Troy) justify pulling the trigger?

Dad gum isn't the present season a good enough reason to fire him no matter the outcome Saturday ??

not to mention our recruiting is going to hell in a hand basket . It is time for Hart to sh!t or get off the pot

They should make quite a bit, especially if the SEC makes the NC game. Pretty sure the SEC divides all the bowl earnings from each bowl and splits it to the bowl eligible teams.

"For bowl games providing receipts which result in a balance between $1,500,000 and $3,999,999, the participating institution shall retain $1,000,000 plus a travel allowance as determined by the SEC Executive Committee. The remainder shall be remitted to the Commissioner and will be divided into 15 equal shares, with one share to the Conference and one share to each member institution."

That's pretty good then so even if we miss a bowl we still get paid

Decision will be made after the end of the season and not until...unless we lose Saturday to Vandy and this may hasten Hart's decision process.....it's hard not knowing what out future holds but my mom always said "Good things Come to those who Wait"......I've been waiting for what seems like eternity.
Love to see Tennessee Football once again!

fThe Gruden stuff is leaking at the seams, so the big names have apparently decided to move the timeline on everything up 7-10 days.

We will know on Sunday whether this post has any merit.

google 'echo chamber' and then get back with us..
