When Satan got Alabama he had similar type issues, I think CBJ can make this happen better. Remember the book issues.
It is going to take time, but I think CBJ is a process guy that will build this team up sooner than we would expected.... Timing has been good and once the foundation is set he will focus on constantly improving this team....2 to 3 years it will be a machine....
I am buying into this process....
Crowder, Kerbyson, Posey, Pair will get p.t. this year, not to mention Jackson, who has actually started before, I believe. Weisman, Kendrick, Sanders may get in this year, but I bet two outta three will red-shirt. We'll see. If we get one JUCO next year, we'll be a'ight.
Austin and Brett both may see play time this year. Also both are jjust a little slow on the quick snaps, I will try to attach the link, but its on utsports.com or youtube, Coach Mahoney talks about Dylan, Brett, and Austin. I'm not sure if Dylans High School ran a hurry up offense or not, but Coach Mo says he's a little ahead of the other 2 mentally, they're being beat off the snap, not physically, just mentally. Coach says that will change. If I cant attach it, go to UTsports.com look up vol practice pounding the pads, under neath the video are icons for videos from coaches, click on the icon for mahoney, if the link I try doesnt attach;

Yeah I think it's just a function of the quick pace and the competition. Sanders will get to where he's not worried about the play because he knows it, and practicing against much bigger and faster DE's. doing exactly what you'd expect. Initial struggles until the game slows down.
Anyone think if tiny declares we have a shot at both tackles being first rounders? Side note has that ever happened at ut? I've seen multiple sources say we have the best tackle tandem in the nation so I would love to see it....
We have 4 guys from the 2011 class that should contribute but the biggest problem is Dooley didn't sign a single OL in 2012.
Dooley should be tar & feathered for that at the minimum, and probably taken to court for gross negligence as a head football coach. He must have felt like a short timer at that point, and didn't put forth any effort to sign an OL. :ermm:

I have no doubts about Austin becoming a significant contributor for us -- I hope it didn't seem like I was discounting him in any way.
Nor do I pretend to have any inside info on what the coaches are thinking as to how much they will play the young ones, and how soon.
I just guesstimated that with the number of our veteran starters and our second line backups that have already been here, coaches would probably bring along slowly some of the youngest talent. Looking forward to seeing them play, either sooner or later. :hi:
