Sucks because I liked him. Will be interesting to see what changes are made.

wow, fire the dude fighting cancer.

What does that have to do with anything?

He's paid to do a job and they've decided to go in another direction. What's wrong with that?

Keeping him just because he has cancer would be as bad as the Rooney Rule.

The cancer doesn't have a thing to do with it.
New coach new philosophy.

Good luck to him.

I like Dinger but he had alot more things to worry about than coaching football right now....Anxious to see the names that come out to replace him...

Wyatt just said since they are firing him, he is looking at getting around 800k to a million.

He will be okay.
Just no jobs out there right now. All have been filled.

Anybody that has changed jobs knows about the mighty COBRA.

Not a good PR move by any stretch.

The East Oakland Oilers are doing to be a fun train-wreck to watch.

Good one?

They are already losing. Guess they should keep losing with the same people just to satisfy other fan bases. With that mentality, this team would be well on its way to 0-16. Forgive me, I mean 8-8. Jeff Fisher's bread and butter. At least the fans who hate the Titans would think they they have some class for once. Everyone here thinks they are classless anyways.

Honestly, who gives a f*** what other fans think of the Titans? An accused rapist played in the Super Bowl and a convicted felon went to the Pro Bowl. If the worst thing the Titans do is fire a couple of coaches because they are losing, nobody outside of the Titans fan base should give a s***. Pretty sure Ray Lewis helped murder somebody as well. All is forgotten after a couple of years anyways. Firing a coach ranks well below the listed events in my book. Shouldn't be a much of an issue after a couple of hours.

Damn...I'm not gonna say it's the wrong move, but damn. That's rough.

Had they mutually decided to go in a different direction, and reported it as such, it would be different. But to have it reported as, "Titans fire coach recently diagnosed with cancer," will seriously hurt their likability.

Like I said, not necessarily a good PR move.

Man, he goes from being interviewed for the head job to not having a place at all.

I like Dinger and think he's a top OC but this was probably a good move. Considering the franchise situation, it's probably best to start everything from scratch.

I wonder is concerns if Dinger would be able to be 100% committed due to medical treatments had an influence on the decision.

They were supposed to keep him because the players loved him and he was the best option. Who is a better replacement?

The players loved Fisher too. Didn't bring him any closer to a Super Bowl ring.

There are plenty of OCs better than Heimerdinger. We'll see if the Titans hire one of them.

Saying Heimerdinger is the best option is insane...I don't know if anybody watched the Titans this year but their offense was very very predictable.....

It was time for Dinger to go....Munchak made a good call here...

It's not like we went three straight games without scoring a touchdown or anything.

you're allowed to have loyalty to whatever team you want. it's wherever you make your ties, as long as you're not just cheering interchangeably for "team X, this year's super bowl champ"

It works just the same way as someone who attended Auburn yet moved to East Tennessee is still allowed to be an Auburn fan first and foremost.

it's about wherever your ties of loyalty were established, not just where you live

Loyalty. Right. Because every Titans fan in the state of Tennessee just so happened to be loyal Oilers fans.

That reason right there alone should be good enough for anybody that Dinger should be retained....They were just flat out terrible on offense..

I'd do my best to find a spot for the guy until he landed another job.

Say a name of someone who the Titans realistically could hire and is a better option than Heimerdinger and why. You sound like a Female titans fan watching them lose and say, "we need to fire fisher". People, don't say anything if you can't justify it
