Heisman Debate

According to Lou Holtz there are nearly 15 viable contenders right now. Not sure I'd agree but there certainly are some good players that will face some tough tests in the next 2 weeks.

I guess I've got my fair share of homerism in this post...but take Manziel's numbers from the Alabama game and use them as the standard for every other contender. That would certainly eliminate several of those so called contenders.

He did some things in the Washington game that made me think he's the real deal. Not just the guy doing the reads, handing off to the right guy, going through the progressions and hitting the right receiver. I saw a fire in him to will the win and carry the team on a few occasions. That, as a Duck, was nice to see.

It's your year to lose GoDucks. Your team is the best in the country IMO. I'll get scorched for saying this but you guys will run past even the best SEC defenses. Oh, and Mariota would be my pick for Heisman to date. :peace2:

I'm not a big fan of his for the off-the-field junk, but Manziel is the best college football player in America...pains me to say it, but the boy can play football.

Manziel may put up numbers, but for Heisman consideration I think character, team leadership, MATURITY level should all come into play. With that said, Mariota is the best choice.
Manziel should go back to fighting cocks. Only respect his family has ever known.

Prior to yesterday, I thought the trophy was Mariotta's to lose. However, Winston's performance yesterday has to vault him to the top of the list. Further, after watching Maty Mauk throw against that vaunted Florida defense, I no longer think that last game will cause significant problems for Winston.
