am i the only one who doesn't understand how tebow is in the running? he hasn't been nearly the same qb this year as '07 or '08. two pick 6's in one game? if it wasn't for florida giving it to him on every play inside the 10, he probably wouldn't have broken walker's record either. no knock on the gators, thats a great team, but i don't see where tebow has played like a heisman candidate...

ESPN gives Tebow more hype than he deserves. They love to highlight his 1 yard TD runs and his "everybody look at me" speaches. Even while he is off the field they show him with his head set on drinking a cup of Gatorade. ESPN will not let us forget how he played thru 2 games with the flu and overcame the concussion to bounce right back.

Seriously though, I think his play has declined from the previous 2 years. There are several players that are out playing him right now and could use a little love from ESPN.

Clausen and Ingrahm should be out front imho.

Clausen has played a schedule full of chumps and has lost to two of them. He deserves no more consideration than the guy from Houston.

I'm down. Keenum has easily played as tough a schedule as Clausen and is much better statistically.

Keenum has the best stats in the nation by farrrrrrrrrrr.

The most Clausen will get is a pity invite to NY, and when push comes to shove I don't believe Tebow will get it.

Ingram played a very good game against LSU with 174 total yards. If he plays well against Florida in the SEC title game, he'll have the trophy wrapped up.

I was with you on Clausen up until yesterday. Now i think the leader should be McCoy with Keenum not far behind.

2 words then a question.

Charles Woodson.

Q. How did he win the hypeman?
A. Think American Idol

Woodson was really good. Maybe the media helped him but I'm pretty sure he did dominate and lead his team to a national title. Players like him should win it more. It shouldn't always be a quarterback.

Woodson won because he was really good. Maybe the media hyped him, but players like that should win it more often. It shouldn't be a quarterback every year with a running back occasionally mixed in. Dominant defensive players should get a chance to win if they are that good.

Woodson won because he was a Big 10 player, and ABC? covered Big 10 games... and Keith Jackson was his biggest cheerleader. He was good.. no doubt, but as most of know here it was a snub against UT. Enter the conspiracy theory picture from Tidal Surge, but I heard a quack then.. and I still hear one now. I agree with you that players like that should win more often, but that player was not the one that should have.

I can't say I agree. You don't see many defensive players have that big of an impact on the national title. I can understand Tennessee feeling a little snubbed, because the only defensive player to win beat a UT guy, and the only guy on a losing team to win beat a UT guy. But if a defensive guy can have that big of an impact on a national championship team, he deserves serious consideration.

Give Josh Nesbitt some love. He is putting up similar numbers to Eric Crouch in his Heisman season.

Tebow is a candidate because he, more than any other player in the country, accounts for and represents the success of a 9-0 team.

Please. Haden and Stamper are more important to UF this year.

Keenum would get my vote. And possibly Colt before Tebow.
