Kelly- How did Ole Miss do early in the season? No

Dobbs- started as 2nd best SEC QB, ends season behind Hurts, Kelly, & Knight, a solid regressive No.

Hurd- QUIT. Doesn't want to be a RB any longer. Hell NO!

Hurts-Really? His QB stats compared to other QBs nationally? Are you serious? No. May as well be a wishbone QB.

McCaffrey & Chubb- Same story, both are very ordinary RBs behind marginal OL play. No. I agreed with Richt 3 years ago, Michel is a better overall player than Chubb.

Fournette- For all his talent he cannot get it done at crunch time. LSU scoreless against Bama in '16. No.

Best player in the SEC IMO? Give it to Bama's LB Foster, best player I've seen in college football this year. That said I think the QB from Louisville takes it home with a couple of games left in the season.

... and you?

No one outside of Louisville's QB is that notable. Just sort of a meh year for individual performances.

Why don't we give it to a Michigan DB :) Nobody in the SEC seems to want it.

It will go to Lamar Jackson in a landslide, and I have no problem with that.

If there is an SEC player that should get an invite to New York, it's Jonathan Allen. He's the most outstanding player on the best team.

The Heisman? Really? Football is a team sport. But I understand. Its a time-honored tradition named after a guy famed for running the score up against a school that hadn't even fielded a team that year.

That said, I can't see it going to anyone but Jackson. Louisville's comeback Saturday proved it to me. The chips were down, but he didnt crumble. He performed well. He lead his team to a decisive victory.

Or I'm sure there's a cornerback at Michigan...

Just found out Hurts is already 20. He was born August 1996.

He's essentially a junior in terms of age.

What is it with Alabama and all these super old true freshmen? Last year they were selling us on Calvin Ridley being the best young receiver ever till we found out he was already 21.

What happened to the days of being 18 years old as freshmen?

Now I understand why it seems like you don't know anything: your "film study" is reading Wikipedia. Hurts was born in August of '98.

Good.

It would be embrassing to be 20 years old as a true freshmen.

Also, why? Because you said so? That's a pretty stupid blanket statement to make.

I mean should Chris Weinke be embarrassed he was a 25 year old true freshman? Should Josh Booty have been embarrassed to be a 24 year old true freshman?

Or how about Calvin Ridley, who was mentioned earlier? His family were Cuban political exiles. Calvin came to America without a word of English or a single minute of formal education. He started his schooling 2 years late and graduated at 20. Should he be "embrassed" because of this?

Alabama wins championships. They obviously dont care about age. Hurts was born in August of 1998 by the way.

Didn't know this at all.

Hope Calvin keeps succeeding.

I love hearing stories like this. 👍

Nearly 20 years later and ESPN hyping a Michigan defender for Heisman?

Like Yogi Berra once said- it's like deja vu all over again.
