well actually reggie bush deserved it this year.  Putting all my biasness aside, he was one hell of a player this year averaging 8+ yards a carry and 10 plus yards every time he gets the ball. simply amazing..

No doubt they got it right this year. Bush is a human highlight real.

wow, he showed a lot of emotion when he won. It's good he is not taking it for granted. I think it's time for him to jump ship and become the number one overall pick.

I do.

I don't let Peyton being "robbed" of it cloud my judgment of the award or it's history.

the Heisman is a political Joke. Reggie Bush did desrve it this year. All you have to do is watch ESPN on weekends to find out who will win.

Yeah, Tennessee players have gotten screwed on it before, but freakin' get over it and move on! This grudge is insane.

(That was to Vols fans in general who always complain about the Heisman trophy)

milo, you are the same person who swears and declares that there is no anti-Tennessee bias among the folks at ESPN. How long have you been a Vol fan again??

I still harbor bad thoughts about ESPN "buying" the award for Woodson...I may NEVER get over that!

Here's a project for you. Post Woodson's NFL stats/awards and then post Peyton's. You can do college too if you want to. :disappointed:

You've got to be kidding me.. :disappointed: If they were going to give it to a defensive player, there were better players with better stats than Woodson that year.

:shakehead:

In defense of Woodson, the Heisman has nothing to do with the NFL. It is, afterall, a college award.

He's made several Pro Bowls at his position, so he's not a bum in the NFL.

He's a good player, but the fact remains that he won the Heisman based on about 3 big plays that he made on national tv. If memory serves, he caught 2 TD passes and had 1 punt return for a TD and had 7 or 8 INTs. Good numbers, but nothing a lot of other DBs haven't done. I think some people also fell in love with him being a 2 way player even though he probably didn't have 15 touches on offense the entire year.

The only person who ever really deserved it didn't get it so I don't give a flip.

Yeh, only a small group feels that way and they all live in Knoxville. Get over it, folks. It's not an NFL trophy.
Charles Woodson made big plays in every big game for Michigan and won the Nat'l Championship...Peyton's team lost 2 games and he threw interceptions in Tennessee's big games.

Well duh. But which player would you rather have in the NFL right now? Peyton or Woodson? I brought up the NFL stats and awards because they'll show you who the better player is. Just like college. I know that the heisman is a college award. :disappointed:

JMX, that's no small group. I agree that it's over and done with, but there are a ton of non-Vol fans who felt the same way.

True, I know a lot of people who don't even like the Vols and most think he was robbed.

A big-time QB, obviously.

But that has nothing to do with who should or did win the Heisman in 1997.

It proves the heistman is a joke now. They got it right this year but how could they not.

Obviously the majority were in Chuck's corner because he won the trophy. I'm just so tired of people that won't let you even mention the Heisman because they are so biased and hold a grudge. We should be happy as Vol fans that Peyton is ruling the world and give props to Chuck for being the best player in college football in 1997 and being a great pro DB.

I agree, the Heisman gets WAY too much pub, but you can hardly blame people for being a little bitter.

I've never heard such a bunch of whiners....It's just one trophy. I mean, my God..he won the Maxwell. Did Texas fans email ESPN and send letters and hate mail because Vince Young didn't win?:banghead:

So??

It's one thing to be biased, it's another to be ripped off. Just because you are trying to be unbiased doesn't mean that it didn't happen. :fool:

Good thing is that Peyton can buy a whole truckload of them now.
