I don't think it can be considered a choke when you weren't even remotely supposed to get there.

As an Arizona alum who's son attends UT I was sort of rooting for both teams. I think the Wildcats had a big edge in coaching and toughness. Tennessee has a good team with a bright future and should be proud of their season.

Candrea has won multiple Olympic gold medals and 8 national titles, so it's not really an indictment on the Weeklys' coaching ability to say they were outcoached. I would have given UT about a 1% chance of getting as far as they did considering they were only the 5th best team in the SEC during the regular season and have 15 freshmen and sophomores out of the 19 players on the roster.

My wifes college coach is the pitching coach. Marty told us that he had a stud pitcher coming in this year and he was not kidding. She had two balls that missed their spots and she paid for it. The plate ump wasn't really helping her any either. All in all I think they did really well. Armchair you do realize that they have 15 underclassmen right? Your going to have mistakes happen when you have that many underclassmen playing. I do wish that they would get a power hitter. Thats not Ralph's style ball though. Marty loves power hitters.
They will never win the championship w/o a power hitter. They need at least two in the lineup. Anyone that thinks you can win the title with all slappers is kidding themselves. If you doubt that, go back and look at the teams that win it year in and year out.

I am Melissa's father.... Mike Davin

Thanks for the welcome. We already feel a part of the UT Family. Melissa has a great relationship with the coaches and is pretty good friends with the recruits and current teammates.

Melissa and my wife, Shari will be flying to Knoxville on the 9th, Tomorrow, so Melissa can attend Orientation on June 10th and 11th.

Again, congrats. I spent 4 years at UT and had the privilege to work in the AD during my time there. It was the experience of a lifetime and I am sure that your daughter will find the same.

Enjoy your trip.
