Bless You. I know how it is, living in Birmingham,AL!
I moved here from TN back in 2020, right when the pandemic hit. Jobs in my field are somewhat limited...
Everyone at work has been talking smack for the last week and I am sure it is about to get amplified this week.
Go Vols and wish me luck down here in the heart of Gamecocks country.

They are the most delusional fans.I spent three years in Columbia and know full well what you’re dealing with. Good luck!
I lived in Columbia for six years, now in Charleston for a long time. Is that town still as big of a crap-hole as it used to be? If you get a chance to transfer, Charleston is much nicer.

It's like anywhere else--it becomes a part of the background. It's a great place to visit for history, though. They've preserved a large part of the downtown area so it maintains the past well. Lots of historical sites for visitors, plus carriage rides, harbor tours, Fort Sumter, plantations, and some world class restaurants. Some of the churches downtown are literally from pre-revolutionary war days. Definitely a great vacay spot, but if you're looking for beaches, we've got some, but they are absolutely packed. Only two hours up the coast to Myrtle Beach tho.I want to go to Charleston for the History.
Do you see a lot of it there?
