15-1 and lost as bad as Tenn

Strangest season I can remember.....so far.

As bad as some “great” teams are, as much parity as there is this year, as much as no one seems dominant in the sec (except maybe Aub...who were now talking about losing).....it’s such a shame Tennessee isn’t very good this year.

I mean it would be an amazing year to actually be good.

If Tenn can find the team that played all the way up to the Washington game then anything can happen. There is no one dominant team this year

I see 5 wins as it is / the way it is (I’m often wrong)......if Tennessee could get going like you stated.....they could certainly pull 3-5 more. 19 wins, pre tournament probably gets them in considering who they would have to beat (to get to 19 wins)....then a couple wins in the tournament.....and their in.

I stated when we knew Turner was done, getting to 17 wins would be a miracle.....I still think it would be.....and highly unlikely.

But.....if they could find their way like earlier in the season.....it could be done.

I said quite a while back: starting with the Vandy or maybe Miss game there is a stretch of 5 games that Tennessee “could” easily win 4 games.....I thought that stretch would be key (to the tournament).......now it’s imperative.

Tennessee “can” win 4 of the next 5 games.....and they almost have to.....but if somehow they can win 4.....that puts them in a decent spot......to just win some home games and maybe pull off just a couple wins vs the really tough teams.

Agree with this. They have to win games that they should win and win 1 or 2 they are not favored to win and just improve along the way and see what happens

They’re struggling with a pretty bad Bama team tonight.
Still, they're 15-1 and ranked in the top 10. Good exposure. It's still working for them until it isn't. I'm not saying they're going to win a natty this year. Just saying...

So what's your point ? They are good, this year ? Made a Final 4 last year and UT did not ? U wish Bruce Pearl was still the coach at UT ? Well, when u lie to the NCAA for a minor violation and they decide to hammer u with a 3 year coaching ban, u are going to get fired and never return to that school. So, u can become an Auburn fan or be . Everybody knows he is cheating again, his main assistant coach, Chuck Person is in prison. Just a matter time, before he gets ran out of town in Auburn. That Final 4 will be vacated, eventually. Would I take it, despite the repercussions ? Yeah, I would.

Got a link on that cheating part?
He's cheating because he's winning?

Settle down there, Pup. Having a bad day bro? I'm perfectly happy with Rick Barnes. In fact, I like Barnes over Pearl as a person. As a coach, they're just different. I loved Bruce when he was here, but that ship has sailed.
I was just speaking to how playing easy teams early might not be great in the long run for them, but it's getting them attention right now. Recruits tend to notice, they also tend to notice who is in the final four, so it goes both ways. As for UT, it's just a down year unless someone steps up and becomes a leader.

We just added two of if not the slowest feet players in the SEC and we all know there are going to play.

With that said we absolutely can’t defend when both of those guys are on the floor together in the man to man.

We must play zone when those guys play

Rick would rather bite his tongue off and toss it into the stands.

Meanwhile, Bruce Pearl has his team at 15-0 (3-0 SEC).

I had hoped we were past this, but I suppose there will always be people who can't resist mentioning Bruce Pearl every time we lose a game. We all loved the Pearl era (and he is a darn good basketball coach as his success at Auburn would suggest), but it's been 9 years. We have a fine basketball coach who just two seasons ago led us to a regular season SEC championship (yes, I am aware we shared it with Auburn) and last season led us to 31 wins and a number one ranking for over a month. It's past time to move on.

It sucks that this season has turned out the way it has, but we have an elite recruiting class coming in next season, a class that on paper is better than any of the ones that Bruce brought in when he was coach here if I'm not mistaken. That class combined with the returning pieces will have us right back to competing for an SEC Championship once again. Go Vols

I don't necessarily disagree with you, but that just ain't gonna happen.

The way this season is going, with no real dominant teams and crazy upsets - just get in the Dance. A currently mediocre team who can get hot late...seemingly has as good a chance as anybody.

The only exception is Gonzaga but hell, they haven’t really played anybody good either.

Not sure if it’s been mentioned already or not, but Barnes essentially said they haven’t had time to implement a zone with all the new bodies and the extra practice time they’ve spent on figuring out the offense. Hopefully they have a chance to get it implemented soon as I do think a zone would help the team especially with any combination of Uros/Pember/Santiago on the floor. Outside of just them I think it could be a good fit for the rest of the team as well with the length of our guards
