Florida has also lost to LSU and UK...if they were ranked without losing to us, it would be a low ranking.

Pitt lost today, but would have been ranked before the loss.

LSU will be ranked tomorrow

Let me say though, it doesn't matter. What matters is they were ranked when we beat them.

The bammer win is the best quality win of the season so far. Uga might end up being better though. :p

I expect Tillman to be back by then and making plays.

Fant and his short yardage presence is more crucial than people care to admit.

Wright, Bru, and Fant are really helping to keep drives moving consistently.

Dobbs also had the benefit of an offensive mastermind and legendary developer of talent as head coach. Hooker makes things happen in spite of being saddled with this Heupel guy.

I have been watching or listening to TN football since the late ‘60’s, and thus far, I would put him at the top, as for what he has managed to do at TN thus far. Yes, Manning was a great passer and leader. Tee Martin was a great runner and leader.Others had their moments, but Hooker has a chance to put his name at or very near to the top of the list.

You best player we ever had people, HUSH!!!!!! You don't want to tick off the Vol-god (Peyton) worshipers. You could find yourselves drawn and quarter for that kind of talk.

Peyton was the greatest ever at UT.

I just think Hooker will have a chance to change that view.

All the praise Peyton ever got he deserved 100 percent...

I don’t think anyone is going to shut us down but our defense is definitely weak enough to let someone outscore us.

Yep. Hooker is definitely a great player. Still, one can't discount the coaching and most importantly the system. It's extremely qb and wr friendly. All in all he's a great fit for a great system that teams haven't adjusted to as of yet. Can't imagine a much better coach to play for if you're a qb.

I'll say it this way he may not be the Vol goat but he deserves to be in any Vol goat conversation.

Peyton threw a dud in there once in a while. For example his 8 for 25 game against a mediocre USCe his senior year. I always felt that was the game that really started voters second guessing him as the Heisman Trophy winner. Had he lit it up that game I think he would have held the trophy. If Hooker keeps the consistency game to game, he’ll cause fans to duke it out over the greatest Vol.

I didn't say Peyton didn't deserve to be praised. I didn't say Peyton was the threat to those who dare to offer lofty praise for other players on the level you mention. I stand by what I said due to what I have seen occur over time on this board. I hope my post is a bit clearer now.
