I want whoever the coaches say is number 1. I'd be ecstatic with either Heaps or Scroggins. I am loving the fact that we are getting Marve

I want Hendrix because I think he has the highest ceiling and can be groomed into a great starting QB by our staff his first 2 years while Marve plays. For those arguing Scroggins has the most upside, Hendrix is bigger, stronger, and faster than Scroggins. Scroggins is more polished and college ready now as he has been playing the position longer (Hendrix used to be an O-lineman). In the long run, I think Hendrix has more potential and is a better option for us now that Marve is coming. Of course all this is based on the fact that people have been saying that Marve is coming. If he does not come, I want Heaps the most and would take Scroggins over Hendrix because he is more polished and ready to make an instant impact.

Why do the people on the thread think Marve is our short term answer at quarterback. He came out of high school with the same rating as Coleman. He was not able to hold the starting position in Miami and is doing basically the same thing as Coleman in packing up his football and moving to a new school. I personally would not want the leader of my team demonstrating and run when the competition get tough. Think about the kind of players which have been good quarterbacks for Tennessee for the last twenty years They were all men which came in and immediately earned the position and held on to it until the graduated or when necessary waited until it was their opportunity to take over the position in the case of T Martin. We need young men with exceptional character and leadership ability in this position if we are going to be successful. The coaching staff we have should and I believe will be able to recruit the player we need for this position. Not hand me downs.

Here's the deal....

The staff doesn't believe, IMO, that any of the guys in this year's class are the answer to our problems from everything I have gathered over the past few months. Why not have a guy in here that has some starting experience and can throw the ball well?? The 2011 class will be better and we will be better fit to have most of the evaluations done before well before the 2010 class is finished and already have a good start on the 2011 class. Trust in the coaching staff, these guys are machines.

I voted for hendrix because i am tired of reading about the other two. I will be stunned if we land heaps or scroggins.

I do trust the staff. I love the fact that we finally have a QB coach, but...Marve struggled at Miami last year. Couple that with the off-field issues and we are back to square one. If Marve could play this year it would be different. But you bring Marve in now you are sending the wrong signal to '10 and '11 recruits. These kids need to know if they come to UT and pack the gear, they WILL play early. Have to agree with miavol. He knows more about Marve than I do. Who knows when it comes to Heaps/Hendrix/Scroggins? Trust the coaches. Gotta love Hendrix's size and speed.

I had a revelation as I was sleeping in my doghouse. We will sign these three QB's in this order:
Marve, Scroggins, Hendrix.:eek:k:

Hendrix, great build, good upside and great program. I'm not sure what the uproar is about Marve. If BJ was still here we would be in the exact same position as we would with Marve coming in, except that BJ would be potentially starting this year. I question whether any of the three can come straight out of high school and start.

Marve's HS vids are better than Cromptons. Just watch them and compare the two. Marve was making more plays, better plays, against better competition. His stats were off the charts and rumor is that he was breaking Teabags HS records. The kid is awesome and needs to be in a system that will work better for him than Miami.

I think Scroggins is the most dynamic of this group, and I think our chances with Heaps are a lot less likely than most people think.
