Yep, might as well throw 8 darts at a board of SEC teams right now. Somebody is gonna be unhappy at every school when schedule comes out. In first (insert school name) we got screwed.

Well, Saban apparently nullified the 3-6 format that he had formerly approved when he learned that his 3 permanents would be Auburn, Tennessee, and LSU.

So, I’d expect his 8 for 2024 to be announced as:
Vandy
Kentucky
Missouri
SCarolina
MSU
Arkansas
Ole Miss
Auburn

I'm rather hoping we get Texas instead of Oklahoma. Makes sense the SEC would not schedule Tennessee vs. Texas A&M in 2024 since we're playing them in '23. But I'm really not liking the idea of playing Texas A&M and Texas in the same year (2025), then not again for 2 years. Tennessee benefits from more exposure to TX recruits and fans by playing one TX team per year, not 2-0-2-0-2-0.... Over time, both TX teams should become secondary rivals since Tennessee is in the same weight class in the top half of the SEC. There's great historic context (Crockett, Houston, Alamo...), UT vs UT, etc. Since neither school is (yet) and competitive rival, I'd expect to find greater sense of kinship and respect between the fans than other SEC opponents, certainly nothing compared to nasty treatment a VOL fan might experience at Georgia or Florida. Most of all, having greater annual exposure to high school and college football fans in Texas helps us in recruiting.

Replace Oklahoma with Texas since the Sooners are not far removed from our past years scheduling. Ole Miss being replaced with Arkansas for the same reasons.

UT will play either Tx or Bama. Only game that is certain is Bama/Tn. GA going to Tx to play and possibly at A&M as well. Looks like either SC or TN was falling off the schedule, looks like it will be SC as think TN will be at GA next year.

So, 3 games I’m mildly certain, Bama/GA and either OU/TX. Two I’m confident is Bama and either OU or TX for TN.

I meant please let bama/satan cry and be visibly unhappy because they get a really tough schedule, such as UGA, LSU, aTm, Us, Auburn, OK, Tejas, and maybe Misery or USCjr. This would make me almost as happy as making the CFP

The reason I think we get Oklahoma is the Heupel connection.
We know how the tv networks like to have those extra storylines to “hype”. Having Coach Heupel return to Norman would do so. That’s why I’m betting Vols play at OU in 2024 Even though Texas also has the whole Mexican War thing where the Volunteers saved the state of Texas

We won’t get both Texas and OU. Peter Burns of the SEC Network let it slip that all current 14 members will play one of those teams and, of course, OU and Texas will play each other. So, every SEC team will play EITHER of the two incoming teams but not both.

Bama plays Ga at home.

Think UT will get OU. Ga gets Tx UF Bama Auburn TN and open with Clemson.

not a surprise. They make their own rules. Just ask any Big 12 school about that.
